We journey out of our traditional running related show today to hear from an expert who helps children choose the right college and gain admission.  Joe invites one of his oldest friends, Carol Barash, on to the show today.  Carol's business "Story to College" helps counsel college bound children in the admission process.  You'll hear about resources to help you and your child choose the right college, the importance of essay writing, the state of competition, scholarships and much more.  It's a fun show that you'll need to refer over to your non-running friends.  Joe also takes time to encourage the non-running audience to give a running race a try.

The 2012 New York City Marathon was canceled.  How did the week unfold from the inside?  Merle Trichon of Sweaty Bands is on the show to talk about her experience as a vendor at the expo.   Getting to New York, transporting product, setting up, the mood of the runners and the city, the announcement, the expo the day after and the amazing volunteer effort that took place by the running community.  All this and much more as we also pause to remember the victims of Hurricane Sandy and the extreme challenges they're having getting their lives back to normal.  It's a fascinating look at the event.

It's an honor to run The Marine Corps Marathon.  The imagery of Washington DC and the Marines is remarkable.  Come run it with host Joe Taricani.  Joe takes you to the expo then out on the race course running all 26.2 miles while broadcasting.  Along the way you'll hear about a U.K. soldier running in a 67lb kevlar suit trying to break a world record, we'll stop to hear the Marine Corps band, there's a lot of movie trivia to be heard, Joe wonders why the Department of Agriculture doesn't have an on course cooking station, plus there are quiet moments when honoring killed in action and a pass by the part of the Pentagon where the 9/11 plane crashed.  You'll also hear from many people in the audience - old and new friends along the way.

It's about time we get a television production about running.  Our friend Karla Bruning is working with a production crew based in New York to produce stories about runners.  It's a terrific broadcast that is in its pilot series.  They cap off their first season with multiple broadcasts at the New York City marathon.  Karla also shares insight about the New York City Marathon as a runner and as a journalist.  After the interview you'll also hear a top 10 list about changes we'd see if our President was a marathon runner.  it's a non-political, humorous list that you'll enjoy.

Joe ran the 2012 Long Beach Marathon, but there were many other marathons the weekend of October 6 and 7, 2012.  We're shaking things up on this show.  Joe will take you to the expo briefly, then out for most of the course.  It's a shortened version of his typical race coverage as he's adding correspondent reports from the St. George Marathon, Minneapolis Marathon, Steamtown Marathon and the Chicago Marathon.  You'll hear from 4 people that ran those events.  They'll talk about the course, the fall colors, funny things they saw and what each race meant to them.  It's a nice change on a good theme.
