Baldy joins Tony and Harry to discuss the upcoming NFL Draft and what the Eagles should do with the 4th overall pick. Baldy says that he is high on Geno Smith, but doubts that he will have as much of an impact as the rookie QBs that we saw in 2012. He also suggests that Chip Kelly consider trading down in the draft, as there is not much of a difference between the 4th and 14th pick this year, and that amassing picks in the later rounds could help fill all the holes that the team currently has.
Tim Kurkjian joins Bruno and Mayes after a great Phillies win last night still weary of where Roy Halladay stands. As compared to previous seasons, there's no longer late movement on his pitches. After the game, Halladay admitted that he was forcing the game. Believing that he can do better, Halladay says that many of his issues are 95% mental. Halladay is not one to whine but he used to be mentally stronger when pitching. According to Kurkjian, Halladay needs to put it together quickly because he isn't the same as in his prime.
Today the guys talked about the Phillies 8-3 win over the Mets. Cliff Lee pitched very well for the second striaght start but was removed from the game in the 9th inning. Should Charlie Manuel have kept Lee in to finish the complete game? Also the guys broke news about why Ilya Bryzgalov didn't start in last night's game
"When you're trying to catch a bird, if you're flailing at it trying to grab for it you're never going to catch it. You've have to hold your hands out and let it land in your hands."
Mike Golic calls in to react to the breaking news of Rutger's Coach, Mike Rice, being fired and why it was unacceptable behavior between he and his team. Golic reflects on his days of being coached by Buddy Ryan. Golic admits that, when he played football, the game was tough. During practice, there would be moments when an offensive coach would say something to a defensive player and the team would find themselves pulling players and coaches off of one another. As a parent, Golic admits that he would be on the first flight to talk to the coach.
John Barr says that the Rutger higher ups had no choice but to fire Rice after the collective reaction from the media.
Boreanez also talks some Flyers with Tony and Harry.
Dunphy says that despite the recruitment war between Philly basketball schools, there is a mutual respect.
Tim Kurkjian joins Tony Bruno to discuss what Phillies fans can expect to see from Roy Halladay as the regular season approaches. Tim believes that when great pitchers like Halladay lose something, they find something else, and expects the veteran to be a solid starter for the 2013 Phightin' Phils.
Rick Tocchet joins Bruno and Mayes to talk about who needs to step up, how they need to play, and what their chances are of making the playoffs.
On today's show Tony and Harry broadcast live from the Parx Casino. They want to know which Big 5 team are you rooting for the most today. Also, the guys breakdown the Sixers disappointing loss to the Nuggets last night and Doug Collins being upset during the postgame press conference.
RJ Bell also says that the National Champions have been 4 seeds or better for the last 24 years and that the 3 competing Philadelphia teams are 500/1 to win the tourney.
Dick Vitale talks with Tony and Harry about the NCAA tournament, the three Philadelphia teams' first round matchups, and more!
Seth Everett also discusses Phillies offseason and anticipation for regular seaon. Also takes time to shamelessly promote Syracuse Basketball
Lunardi also discusses the state of the other Philadelphia teams.
