Should we pay attention to stock prices? Ultimately, yes. They are important. However, when corporate executives are paid according to the value of their company’s stock, they may make decisions that increase profits for the short-term but hurt the company for the long-term. Executives are cutting capital investment, decreasing research and development, laying-off skilled employees, and buying back the company’s own stocks at premium prices (business theory says they should only buy their own stocks if the company is undervalued). All of this increases the stock prices for the short-term. However, when you have a corporate nation all acting in a similar manner, it’s bad for our country and it’s bad for you for the long-term. Yet again the media has failed us. Am I tired of talking about this ad nauseam? No! It is the only way to make people aware. I was honored to have been invited to join the last leg of the NAACP's America's Journey for Justice. This was march and rally for social justice, inequality eradication, voter rights, and much more. We made the 24 hour bus trip from Houston to Washington DC. We left on Monday at 6:00 AM and arrived in the DC area around 6:15 AM on Tuesday. We took showers, ate breakfast, and we were marching by 10:00 AM. There were thousands of people marching and thousands more who attended the actual rally after the march. What was absent was any visible coverage from the traditional mainstream media. On Wednesday we rallied on the grounds of Capitol Hill before unleashing several hundred advocates into the halls of Congress. Many spoke to both their Congresspersons and their staff. His membership includes the Ancient Free and Accepted Freemasons in the Fellow Craft Degree and Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity Incorporated the First Nationally Recognized Latino Fraternity of its kind, which has its roots in Free Masonry. Dawud is currently working on earning his Masters in Social Work at the University of Southern California. Anyone watching the news would think it is 2003 all over again. We have the Right Wing neocons out insinuating that the Iran Nuclear Deal is an existential threat to the United States and Israel. That is simply not true. Support is under water for the agreement however. Why is that? It is simple. There is a well-funded misinformation campaign designed to lie and misinform Americans. As we all know by now fear is more effective than resolve or hope. What is disconcerting is the involvement of a foreign government to influence our own government. Israel’s Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu has had undue influence on Republicans on this issue. If our media weren’t derelict, two realities would be made known to the American public. Those on the right are simply lying. And the Republican Party has allowed a foreign government along with the neocons, the wards of the military industrial complex, to put their wants over the well-being of Americans. Everyone is in an tizzy over Kim Davis, an elected official, being locked up for defying a court order for not fulfilling her duties for the position she took an oath stating she understood what was expected of her in the position and that she would, in fact, perform said job requirements. Or screaming bloody murder for a lion or that a black person was killed while ignoring the fact that countless white people are also being gunned down for no real reason. Yet on the 15th anniversary of 9-11, not one person responsible is locked up. In fact, they are making a fortune off the wars they created. Where is the American outrage? Why is no one demanding blood from the government? We seem to unite when a tragedy occurs and ride the wave of popularity as long as it suits our needs. Why? Where is our pride, our stamina and desire for Justice?
