Episode 49- “Government of the People,” the best description. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

"Government of the People," seems to have been lost and thrown out the window today by our political leaders from both sides.   Increasing animosity towards government practices and failure of our leaders to "listen" to the people, we in the U.S. have drifted so far from our founding principles it's quite scary.  This episode puts somewhat of a positive spin on what's going on.  You will hear from another special person with a brief introduction from me.  The speech you will hear was recorded 29 years ago, but remains so true today. Although Today's Survival Show is not a political show, the actions of our government's leaders do affect our daily lives.   No matter what your political beliefs are, this episode applies to the human species.  It applies to everyone regardless of their walk of life.  Hope you enjoy it.  Episode 47 – Wilderness survival basics: Increase your chance of rescue | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Wilderness and Outdoor Survival in case of an unexpected tragic event, like a hiking trip or hunting trip.  Increase your chance of rescue. The term "survival" is used to express the actions and attitudes, which help an individual to continue to live inspite of adverse circumstances, to improve his or her situation and to increase the possibility of eventual rescue. In this show, I discuss the 3 most significant factors that figure in: 1.  Physiological and Psychological factors (7 subjects) Pain: Cold/heat: using blast matches Thirst: Hunger: Fatigue: Boredom and loneliness Fear (Episode 8) 2.  Attitudinal Factors: The most important attitude required during a survival situation is the ability of the survivor to immediately accept the reality of the new situation and the ability to adapt to the new situation and react appropriately to it. 3.  Survival activities The patterns of the activities carried out in the event of a survival situation are determined by the urgency of the need. First aid Signaling for rescue (morse code?, I ask the question.) Shelter making Actions against heat/cold Water procurement (filtration) Food procurement (hunting and fishing) Devising of other survival techniques. Duty Allocation, delegating survival responsibilities

Episode 44 – Teach People How to Treat You and Survive | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

People Skills:  Necessary for success in anything you do. You teach people how to treat you and survive, means that it all comes back to you. It's up to you to allow or not allow certain treatment. It also means that you have to first get clear about how you want to be treated. It means that you have to take responsibility enough to write your own owner's manual so to speak. And you are accountable for living by your owner's manual. Perhaps this might be the very first time we ever even gave this any thought?  Is this a survival topic?  Sure is, after any event, even a family tragedy or simple job loss, these people skills will apply.   Part 2 of how to deal with difficult people. Highlights: 1.  Start by knowing what you want 2. Learn from your current situation 3. Honor it and practice it 4. Teach yourself how to treat you when that's the only choice. Some of these will apply to dealing with your employer and also I talk about the "law of attraction." Bob Mayne Today's Survival Show
