 Survival Gun Show – Episode 23 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 37:51

Today Chip covers two firearms that have obvious Survival applications: the popular Springfield XD and the venerable Savage 99.  The discussion on the XD covers a brief history of the platform, an overview of the different design elements of the XD and some recent experiences Chip had shooting one of these great sidearms.  The second part of the show focuses on the lever action Savage 99 with attention paid to the "dual use" possibilities of a powerful cartridge like the .308 Winchester in a fast-shooting, but also fairly innocently-looking longarm. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCC15ghUCv8 httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMY6Gow3Kh4 (with chromed slide) httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rj0Kal84UNE (long Nut'n'fancy review) httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoJkI9rukEo httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdI69ZqDMBo

 Bar Stool Discussion LIVE – 040 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:03:41

No Compromise! Streamed Live! 4/4/12: On Doc’s 47th birthday, Paul Velone, of Grass Roots North Carolina knocks aside the GRRN bar doors to celebrate the elimination of his state’s ban on carrying firearms during a state of emergency. Paul is a guerilla fighter for gun rights with a No Compromise attitude: an aggressive, winning tactic. Then – it gets a bit odd: with the latest Glock follies and an improvised silencer made from an oil filter. Matt of American Specialty Ammo swears it’s the quietest 22LR silencer available. Remember: it ain’t stupid if it works. The chatroom overflows with April Fools jokes including the Glock G1911 and a tactical kilt. In the after-show, Doc entertains with his “Tales From The Prostrate”, featuring a doctor’s sausage fingers, a missing class ring, a pretty nurse with questions about Doc’s sexual proclivities, a little prick, and a hot nurse named Bob? It was hard to tell over all the laughter. However, descending the Grand Staircase in her antebellum finery, Gail trips over a bit of shattered technology, and doesn’t call in. Don’t you make that mistake! The Next Really Big Shooow: 18Apr12.  Survival Gun Show – Episode 22 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 48:36

Today we look at the topic of Trunk Guns for Survival/Preparedness purposes, discussing in detail the various considerations for such a firearm as well as some of the better options out there.  The focus is on reliable yet inexpensive firearms that can stand up to the wear and tear involved in just riding around in your vehicle waiting for the time they might be needed.  Included is information on various military surplus semiautos and bolt actions, major manufacturer hunting guns, and various shot guns that might be suitable.  We also touch briefly on some of the legal considerations.  For the last segment your host looks at the KelTec PMR-30 and discusses both his own experiences and the "scuttlebutt" on this intriguing design and where it might fit into a survival plan. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S81pd_ZRZlg httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqxDW4xUH6s httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMYkjGLKos0 (James Yeager vid) httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=798eNj0s0Ls httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ti9bs-7ES2M httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jk3fOQ4iW3Q

 Bar Stool Discussion LIVE – 038 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:11:01

I Love Guns and Coffee! Streamed Live! 2/22/12: Gun rights issues take precedence this Bar Stool Discussion. A simpering NGVAC spokeshole cannot explain away his boycott’s failure, nor the success of the gun culture’s Starbucks BUYcott. In a recorded speech, John Lott celebrates Canada’s flirtation with rationality as they eliminate the Long Gun Registry. Mark and Doc bandy about many other gunny issues, including gun cleaning, the new Kalashnikov AK-12, Top Guns: a highly recommended History Channel show, and especially the need to continue to support our rights with meaningful, long term actions. The Vicki and Grant Cunningham grace the always frenetic chatroom. However, aware that most men work with computers, but preferring to beat hers into submission, Gail doesn’t call in. The Aftershow ends with a BANG and not a whimper, as a North Carolina thunderstorm (Flash and CRASH, y’all) knocks Doc back to the Revolver Age.  Survival Gun Show – Episode 21 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 28:58

The Mosin-Nagant rifle.  It's big.  It's ugly.  It's clunky. It has an atrocious safety.  The trigger takes a lot of time to get used to.  It's heavy.  It's....  Well, we could go on and on but truth be told despite all of the previously negative features I've mentioned it also happens to be the best bargain going in centerfire rifles today.  Which is why we're going to discuss it on today's episode.  Survival Gun Show – Episode 20 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 26:43

Today your humble host discusses one of those guns that I regrettably left behind: the handy Keltec Sub 2000.  I have owned two of these little fellers during my experience as a gun owner and find myself now wishing I had held on to one or both of them. These little carbines are unique due to their capability of folding in half to minimize their dimensional size, yet are reliable, accurate and easy to use.  During this episode I look at the basics of this particular platform, some of their advantages/disadvantages and where I see them fitting into someone's personal Survival Armory.
