Ron Paul 2012 Podcast
Summary: Most independent minded Americans realize that Washington DC is corrupt, and is run for the administrative convenience of Wall St. banks and multinational corporations. Republicans and Democrats have let us down time and time again. If the United States are to remain free and democratic, we must save our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Don't let the corporate media and the special interests tell you how to think! They demonize any restraint on federal authority (like Constitutionalism, states-rights, fully informed juries, and the OathKeepers) as racist, extremist, or seditious! Why? Because they are authoritarians at heart who want to run your life and take your money on behalf of the wealthiest people on earth. Ron Paul is America's leading voice for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. If you are disgusted by what corporate interests have gotten away with in recent years, you must understand that it wouldn't have been possible without government complicity. A small government cannot pass out favors to cronies, and therefore representatives are less likely to be corrupted. Don't allow the media to convince you that libertarian ideals are quaint, bizarre, or anachronistic. Don't allow the likes of the ADL and Southern Poverty Law Center to get away with saying that you're a racist if you believe you've been taxed enough and you think the borders should be secured. Dr. Paul represents a return to common sense in government, and to the freedom that allowed such great prosperity in our country. So take a listen to Congressman Paul's words as he is interviewed by the media, gives speeches to students and supporters, and debates ideological foes. Just over one week remains until this God-forsaken election cycle comes to an end. Dr. Ron Paul won't be our next President, but as I've stated before, I'll try to keep the podcast up-to-date through the rest of the year. After Election Day, Rep. Paul will return to Washington for the lame duck session of Congress- which can certainly shape up to be a dramatic period. Much of this week's audio contains a look back at the campaign that was, including some talk about this election from the perspective of the liberty movement. We also here from/about some other candidates who received the Congressman's endorsement for office (and vice-versa). It can now be assumed that Dr. Paul will not be on the Libertarian ticket this cycle, although he has acknowledged the fact that some supporters will write him in on Election Day. The professional punditry remains concerned about where the Ron Paul vote will go, as the GOP makes the case that a vote for anyone other than Romney is, in fact, a vote for Obama. Many voices from around the movement are offering their thoughts about where the liberty movement should focus it's collective energies now that the campaign is over, and who should lead? There is alot of disagreement on that front, as you'll begin to hear in this audio file. I like to post as many well-spoken perspectives as I can find, so the listener can make up their own mind. Paul's dogged adherence to his basic tenet – that government impedes liberty – has garnered him a passionate and diverse following. Dr. Paul is currently serving the last of his 24 years in the House and the host spoke with him about his philosophy for an ideal society for a taping of RadioWest.
