Usually Chris likes to talk a little bit about the history of the beer styles he's tasting, but that's hard to do with something as brand new as Belgian IPA. A style still very much in development, Belgian IPAs marry the yeasty flavors of Belgian ales with the bright hop character for which American craft beers are known. In this episode, Chris and Margaret taste three American examples of Belgian IPA.
Although the original pilsners came from the Czech Republic, they are often overshadowed by their crisper, lighter German cousins. Today we go back to the original source of Pils, tasting the first ever golden lager, as well as two more of it's Czech counterparts.
