Our happiness in life is not determined by our circumstances, but by our reaction to circumstances. There's a great deception in our society that says you are not responsible for your mental and emotional health. If you're depressed, discouraged, despondent, it's not your fault. James MacDonald continues his teaching from the life of Jonah and shows us the hard truth from the Word of God: we are responsible. And if we're down, it's because we choose to be. If we're going to find the joy and the victory that God wants to bring into our lives, we have to deal with that deception before we can move on.
Revival means renewed interest after indifference or decline. So before we can fire up afresh our relationship with God, we have to have one. And revival isn't something we can do on our own, says James MacDonald. It is an outpouring of God's Spirit that brings an abhorrence of personal sin and an overflowing delight in the nearness and the goodness of God. Learn from Jonah how God is in relentless pursuit of us to bring revival to our lives.

There is in each of our hearts a proneness to wander spiritually. And every so often God breaks through and gets our full attention. Listen, don't ever allow yourself to resent the relentless pursuit of God. We would get to some pretty stupid places with our lives if God didn't continually and faithfully come after us. Aren't you glad that God comes after His children? James MacDonald leads us through the second chapter of Jonah to see how God wants to break us down and lay us down so we can look up.
A single message in honor of Harvest Bible Chapel's 25th Anniversary. Preached from John 14:1-6.

God is absolutely relentless in His pursuit of us. When we try to run from Him, He comes after us and never lets up. And for some, God's going to be coming after you this month about some specific stuff in your life. You'll ask, We have to talk about this again? And God's like, Yes. James MacDonald begins a series in Jonah, where we learn that our God is a loving, merciful, caring, patient, pursuing God.

For many people, it is not easy to get to the finish line of their Christian faith. Through hardships or battling sin, endurance is not something we can maintain on our own, but when we wait on God and draw near to Him, that is when we get the strength we need to persevere. As James MacDonald concludes his series, Finish Line Faith, he challenges us to overcome life's obstacles by the power of Jesus Christ and finish strong.

No one suffered quite like the Apostle Paul-persecuted, stoned, and imprisoned; yet through all of his sufferings, God strengthened him to push through and finish in victory. In this message, James MacDonald reminds us that the God who was available to Paul in his adversity is available to us. No matter how difficult our circumstances, with God's help, we can persevere.
