 E070: Chelsea Rae on March 11, 2010 | archived on | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:10:00

Guest: Recording artist Chelsea Rae returns to our show. Since before she was born into this world music has been influencing Chelsea Rae. Her mother attended a Judds concert when she was six months along with her and as the story goes over the years, it has been said that she could feel her kicking along to the rhythm of Kentucky duo. Since then Chelsea has continued to hold on tight to those early influences of country music's legends like the Judds and Wynonna and modern country stars like Taylor Swift, but has also seen her tastes blossom into other genres as she has grown and she can now state pop/rock influences like Kelly Clarkson, P!NK, Katy Perry and Colbie Caillat as well. She has been focused on writing and performing songs since she was only 13-years old and in 2008, an 18-year old Chelsea Rae made the big move to Nashville to pursue her dreams of writing and performing her music. She jumped right in and began to work on her craft in-between a busy schedule of school (former Belmont Univeristy student) and work . Over the past two years of living in Nashville Rae has been quick to blaze her own trail with the likes of Nashville's finest including co-writing sessions Walker Hayes (Capitol recording artist), Bo Bice (Former Idol runner-up) and Bridgette Tatum (Co-wrote 2009's most spun song "She's Country"). In the spring or 2009 Rae released her debut EP, "Justice," in memory of fallen classmate and inspiration, Justice Fockler. The five song album gave listeners a sneak peak into Rae's country roots and spit fire attitude with lyrics like "Don't come cryin' to me I see you shakin' in your boots," and"Ask your neighbor for a dollar to cut the grass come Sunday me and dad we were catchin' bass..." Currently Chelsea is in the studio recording her sophomore EP, "Ember,"

E069: Shea Fisher and Maddie Bradshaw on March 4, 2011 | archived on | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:00:00

Guests: Country Recording Artist and Rodeo Champion Shea Fisher and 13 year old millionaire and author Maddie Bradshaw. Shea showcases an emerging artist with a clear sense of identity, combining youthful energy and a seasoned performer's way with a lyric. They are qualities that made her the first female signing to Stroudavarious Records. Shea?s journey toward the country charts began not long after her birth in Victoria, Australia. In fact, her talents on two fronts were evident at a very young age. She was just 3 when, influenced by her parents (rodeo champion father Eddie Fisher and barrel racing champion mother Joanne), she began competing in?and winning?barrel racing competitions. Maddie Bradshaw has always been a bit of an overachiever. The 13-year-old is a straight-A student, plays three sports a year, and has a passion for art. So it's perhaps not all that surprising that she would eventually add "entrepreneur" to the list "My family's really into recycling," Bradshaw says. "So I went to my uncle's old-fashioned soda machine and found a bucket full of caps, and knew that I would need something magnetic so I took one." Bradshaw sketched a black and white abstract portrait of Albert Einstein, one of her inspirations, inside the cap. She put it in her locker and her friends quickly begged her to design more for their lockers.

 E067: Skyler on February 18, 2011 | archived on | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:55:00

Guest: country music recording artist Skyler.   Third grade. Recess. As most kids wait anxiously for their turn on the slide, ride on the zip line, or shot at the four square court, another group forms around a solitary raised platform. At any other time of day, this spot would be unremarkable. But after lunch, at this elementary school, it is transformed into a stage? where Skyler would perform. And from nearby this makeshift venue, educators can witness a mini ?Hard Day?s Night? moment. From these unusual beginnings, it should be no surprise that by 6th grade, Skyler was a multi-instrumentalist; by 7th grade, he was sleeping on the couch, so as not disturb the sanctity of the recording studio that his bedroom had become; or that by 9th grade, he had released his first full-length, all original CD. There have been many other stops: four more original CDs before high school graduation, 20 professional and repertory theatre productions, over 250 gigs, and a year at Berklee College of Music. With the release of the EP, Long Gone, -- recorded and produced by Jonathan Wyman (Halo Studios) and mastered by Adam Ayan (Gateway Mastering) -- Skyler and the band are currently looking for their spot on the playground. Come out to a show and be ready to have a ?Hard Day?s Night? moment of your ownyour
