Summary: The Port of San Diego has begun work on one of its major Green Port projects -- the installation of shore power at its B Street Pier Cruise Ship Terminal and Broadway Pier.The shore power system, also known as cold ironing, is expected to reduce more than 1 ton of pollutants from each ship that plugs into the system, once operational in December 2010.
