Modcast #19: Dirty Sound System

Modular People Modcast show

Summary: Dirty Sound System is Guillaume Sorge, Clovis Goux and sometimes Benjamin Morando. Three Frenchies with a penchant treading the line between vintage and futuristic. When it comes to the party, they know how to spin it, playing all over the world beside names like Justice, Simian Mobile Disco, Headman and Kitsune. Together with Jerome Poisson handling the technical bits, they run a Paris based website/record label called Dirty. As a label, they are most known for releasing tracks by Discodeine (Marando & Pilooski) and limited vinyl runs of re-edits by Pilooski that have garnered props from the likes of Erol Alkan, Joakim and WhoMadeWho. They've also put out four compilations of off-kilter dancefloor tracks with little to no genre distinction, the latest of which is titled Dirty Space Disco. This Modcast features some upcoming Discodeine tracks and Joakim remixes as well as some club (un)classics. It was recorded live, no editing, no overdubs, they left all the mistakes, but it's still smooth as silk.
