Summary: Paul Belli has been photographing landscapes/seascapes since 2018. Originally from Scotland he’s now well and truly settled in New Zealand and loves having the opportunity to shoot some of the most stunning scenery in the world. His style has changed quite a bit in those 4 short years. He’s always shot long exposure photography but continues pushing boundaries with the length of exposures he’s taking, taking a deep dive into the realms of ultra long exposure photography. His first love is taking photographs of the sea, probably in part from the love of having his feet in the ocean, to Paul it's very cathartic. Being surrounded by natural beauty in New Zealand, Paul uses his camera as an extension of how he sees the landscape and then prints his photos with a focus on the magic he finds. Earlier this year he won the Cityscape category in the Landscape Photography World Awards and he’s going to keep pushing the boundaries of his craft. We talk about where his creative drive comes from, how he balances having a young family with his passion for astro-photography and what success in his photography means to him along with a lot more!
