Ep 128. Why Are We So Difficult for Some in The Lash Industry?

LashCast show

Summary: Every once in a while...I'll get a DM, email, text, or maybe post online from a concerned artist letting us know we are hurting the lash industry. It usually goes like this: (Playing the part of the "concerned lash artist" is Cardi B.) Cardi B: Hey mother $%#&@...you are one lame #$&!!! Okay, that actually has never happened to us...at least not that aggressive...but we have gotten messages telling us we are bad for the industry and are hurting naive lash artists. (BTW who thought Cardi B would be good for this part? I need a new casting agent.) With that as our backdrop, Tussanee and I feel it would be helpful for us to explain why we do what we do. Do we like being difficult? Are we needy and hope someone will pay attention if we say crazy things? Are we just brainwashed pumpkins who watched too much Sponge Bob with our kids? What is it the drives us to keep saying things that run contrary to many lash trainers and lash brands? In this episode, we unpack this and share how our DNA was formed. We weren't always like this but over the years certain events and people had an impact that really changed how we approach beauty and the lash industry specifically. In the end, we want you to think for yourself. You don't need to agree with us or preach what we preach. We want you to question everything and to the best of your ability to really understand "the why" behind "the how". With this podcast, we want to challenge the way you think and have you reflect on why you do what you do. If your answer is "I do this because this is what my lash master taught me"...then I'd say it's time to dig deeper and really find out why you believe what you believe. It's time to stop being a lash zombie. BTW...we always welcome feedback and criticism people throw at us. I know most people who don't approve of our ideas are doing this because they want to protect the lash industry. I don't think they hate us...they just think we are wrong and want to stop misleading other artists. The motivation is a good one so it's hard for me to cast "hate" on them. So if you have something to share with us, please do.
