Summary: #65. NBC syndication. "The Mysterious Bride". A young Scotsman rides off to meet his ghostly lover on St. Lawrence's Eve. The standard program opening has been deleted, the story is unaffected. Weird Circle tells the tale this week of The Mysterious Bride. It's 1777 and Alan Sanderson, Laird of Birkendelly spies a beautiful woman alone on a country lane yet cannot find her as he reaches the turn in the road. A friend further up the road confesses that he saw no such woman even though he should have run right into her. The Laird finds himself bewitched by this enchanting vision who it seems has been visiting his dreams for some time. She convinces him that she is no mere apparition from his imagination introduces herself as Jane Ogilvy and as her story unfolds it reveals a tale of an impossible contract of betrothal between them from before he was born.   The Weird Circle was a syndicated series produced in New York and licensed by Mutual, and later, NBC's Red network. For two seasons, it cranked out 39 shows (78 total) consisting mostly of radio adaptations of classic horror stories   The show's strength was stories from famous writers of the two genres, including Robert Lewis Stevenson, Victor Hugo, Edgar Alan Poe and even Charles Dickens.
