Everyman Endurance Podcast show

Summary: They call it – “the most mentally and physically challenging endurance event in the world.” It is the Death Race and the marketing for the race says, “you may die”. Only 200 people every year can take part and thousands are turned away according to the race’s creator Joe DeSena. What’s more interesting is that only about 20 to 40 of the amateur athletes that start the race actually finish. Some of the tasks of the Death Race include: Crawl through a muddy trench, under barbed wire Jog a mile upstream in the river carrying a 20-lb tree stump At the wood-chopping station, split 20 logs Hike a mile uphill and recite the first 10 US Presidents’ names. Miss one and you need to go back down to try again. Study a collection of Legos. Run a mile uphill and then using only their memory or notes reassemble the Legos Slog a mile south in the river. Why put yourself through this torture to win the Death Race? Listen to the podcast and find out.
