Biblical Manliness 024: “Manly Marks: Meekness”

Biblical Manliness with Chris Clevenger show

Summary:     Episode #024 Recorded Wednesday, June 12, 2013 "Manly Marks: Meekness" HOST: Chris Clevenger   Show Notes: By inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the apostle Paul provides nine qualities that we refer to as "the Fruits of the Spirit." (Galatians 5:22-23) These characteristics are the outgrowth of the Word of God, the seed of the Kingdom (Luke 8:11), when it is planted in our hearts. The eighth Manly Mark is Meekness. Meekness is humility and gentleness combined, especially in the face of adversity. Sir Thomas Browne explained: "Meekness takes injuries like pills, not chewing, but swallowing them down." This indicates that meekness allows a person to overlook or forgive perceived insults or offenses." Meekness is practicing strength under control.  Meekness is possessing a purpose bigger than yourself.  Meekness is preferring forgiveness over revenge.  Your Feedback Submit your feedback or suggest future topics via email (manliness@thelightnetwork.tv) or voicemail: 903-26-LIGHT (903-265-4448) If you enjoyed the show, please rate it on iTunes and write a brief review.
