Did the primary buffer panel just fall off my gorram ship for no reason? Firefly week reaches its conclusion as we break down the 2005 Film Serenity, based on the cult TV series Firefly. Joe and Mark are joined by special guest Shawn Allred of CheapSeatReviews. Serenity rose from the ashes of what many assumed was a very unfortunate death at the hands of Fox. Luckily for fans, Joss Whedon (before becoming the Justice League monster we know today) would go to Universal to make a pitch for why the story should continue. The verse of Firefly was notable for many things -- chief among them a unique musical score that controls the feel of the show.   The TV series (2002) and Serenity (2005) film however would differ heavily in their composition.   Joe and Mark join forces with Chris and Leslie Lott of Measuring the Score to break down the musical compositions of both properties. Ah the video game movie... we've seen many favorite properties get a big screen adaptation.  Unfortunately it's a sea of mediocrity with a few bright spots lightly peppered throughout.   Joe and Mark dig into some video game movie history before analyzing what we know about the Borderlands movie.   Optimism? 17 years after Sylvester Stallone's Judge Dredd the character would be back to cinemas to patrol.  Joe and Mark are big fans of the rebooted film and the story they decided to tell. The only shortfall of Dredd (2012) is the fact that we didn't get a sequel -- as the attempt at a new continuation kept a simple story.  Perhaps too simple?
