People, Know Your Limits! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:26:27

Join hosts Stuart and William on another roaming, insightful conversation, offering up an authentic, unscripted discussion, as they explore a listener question, from Alan in Northway, Oxford, England. "At recent protests, of all kinds, there have been members of the public given the task of being legal observers to ensure protests and policing of the protests are fair. I'm hearing the police are arresting these people and pushing them aggressively, whilst police dogs are barking at them. Is this designed to put off people taking this volunteering role and baring witness to wrongdoings, on both sides of the argument? The police say they are merely trying to interpret government legislation, but is this just a distraction technique? Could it be that the police, the courts, the government, and the overall system are all separate entities, but one of the same thing even so? That being, a box of tools used to keep the public in their place. Are we really in a democracy?" Do you have a question you'd like Stuart and William to explore, delve into or debate?  Is Britain A Pretend Democracy? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:20:39

Join another meandering, unscripted, deep conversation, as hosts Stuart and William again delve into another listener question, from Colin in Worcester, England. "It's said Britain is a pretend democracy, and is it a disguised dictatorship. Protesters are being treated badly, yet it's said that in Myanmar, the protesters there are being treated a lot worse, so we've no right to complain. Do you agree though that whatever country, culture, or experience, protest actions prevents and breaks silence, and the power that silence has in maintaining the status quo? We need to get ourselves off fossil fuels, and change supply chains, and the way we consume. We have the funds and the resources to live in new sustainable ways. We have most of the tech already available to us to make this change, we just don't seem to have the will to do it. It will only change with people pressure.  Increasing biomass of mature trees, and kelp farms, that absorb carbon, alongside better transport infrastructure etc is doable. Reducing food wastage can have a big impact, as then less methane will be the result of less food wastage going into landfill. If we do that, we consume less, so we produce less plastic. We have the intelligence to do this, but do our leaders?" Do you have a question you'd like Stuart and William to examine, discuss or debate?  Gas Guzzling Climate Protestors | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:22:43

Join hosts Stuart and William, in their usual far reaching discussion style, as they examine a question from listener Cliff in Radley, Oxfordshire, England. "I (Cliff) see climate crisis protesters arrested en masse, and taken by police to stations, in diesel vehicles. Protesters also travel to protests in gas guzzlers, and use tons of plastics during protests. Have protesters thought this through properly? Is it their problem, or the Police's problem regarding the transportation issue once arrested? Or is it all our problem?  TV Programs are now common and are being made all over the world, highlighting the climate crisis that is happening now. Yet presenters like David Attenborough are criticized for making these shows to make us aware of how bad things are, as they're flying all over the world to make these shows. Can flying, and having a large carbon footprint ever be justified?" Do you have a question you'd like Stuart and William to examine, discuss or debate?  Is It Time To Make George Orwell Fiction Again? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:21:14

Using their nomadic and roaming, unscripted conversational chat style, hosts Stuart and William offer up a very real discussion, as they take a deep dive and explore another listener question, this time from Tony in Newbury, Berkshire, England. "Environmental campaigns seem to easily be dismissed as localised issues, and not national things, especially here in the UK, but this habit of governments increasingly suppressing protests is seen the world over. Most environmental campaigns are generally fighting the same issues, and as long as the public perception remains of these being local issues, it will always be a David and Goliath scenario. Campaigners are often amateurs with few resources, with the government, developers etc, and their opponents having huge resources, well paid barristers, and a rigged system in their favour. Politicians downplay the protesters as localised issues, and lazy suppressed and oppressed journalism, all serve to divide and conquer. It's a strategy used to keep the public under control. It's not in the politicians favour to forewarn communities what will be happening to them, by revealing it in the media what is already happening in other communities. When the truth creeps out is on social media, our leaders dismiss it as staged or misrepresentation, or one sided. It all seems like the George Orwell book 1984 to me. Isn't it time that all small local campaigns pool their resources, knowledge and skills, becoming a stronger force, and more professional, and more resilient against repression our leaders already distribute?"  Reclaiming Land Through Mass Trespass | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:20:08

Another unscripted, meandering, insightful chat, between hosts Stuart and William. A very real discussion, as they examine a listener question, from Cliff in Radley, Oxfordshire, England. "Various protests are popping up to commemorate the mass trespass that happened back in the 1930s on Kinder Scout in the Peak District, in the north of England. People are being encouraged to reclaim our land and trespass on land marked private. Should people trespass at all, and is there ever an acceptable case for trespassing? And should these protestors go off and get themselves jobs so that they can buy their own bit of land, no matter how small? Plus are they going to then turn on their protests towards people's right to own their own homes?" Do you have a question you'd like Stuart and William to examine, explore or debate? A meandering unscripted real discussion, and opinions, as hosts Stuart and William examine a listener question, from Cassie in Bicester, Oxfordshire, England. "Low traffic neighbourhoods, do you think they are a good thing? What I'm noticing is they might be making some congestion hot spots even busier by closing these rat runs?"  The Youth Littering Disgrace | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:24:36

RECORDED VIA LANDLINE PHONE   Join hosts Stuart and William on another roaming and nomadic, insightful conversation, offering up a very real, unscripted discussion, as they explore a listener question, from Philip in Harrogate, England. "After the third lockdown in Britain was eased in late March 2021, parks were seen packed with those in their teens and early twenties, and then leaving loads of litter behind. Some say it's just young people enjoying themselves, and the council's fault for not supplying enough waste bins. In my opinion, it's easier to take home rubbish though, as it's lighter than when it was actually carried there, because all the produce has been consumed. If the next generation is truly more environmentally aware, why are they inflicting this disgrace on the rest of society? Maybe the council shouldn't tidy our rubbish away so efficiently in the future, so when these people return, as they will, they will see and feel the impact of their brain dead thoughtlessness?"  Whose The New Enemy In The Climate War? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:19:09

RECORDED VIA LANDLINE PHONE   Authentic views and opinions, in another wide ranging, unscripted, real discussion. As hosts Stuart and William, break down another listener question into bitesize, understandable chunks. This time, Jaryd from Ireland is back, with his second question. "Who is the new enemy in the climate war? Deniers, fossil fuel industry and their advocates, politicians, and the media, have organised possibly the best funded PR campaign to discredit science around the climate crisis. They haven't given up, but have just evolved their tactics. Is Rupert Murdoch their new mouthpiece, rewriting history and the present, and is muddying the water an obstruction to progress?" Is it time to shift the emphasis from extrovert activity to more introverted activity and work together? Do you have a question you'd like Stuart and William to explore, discuss or debate?
