  SequelQuest | A Weird Science Sequel | EP119 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:18:44

In 1985 John Hughes released the science fantasy teen comedy Weird Science starring Anthony Michael Hall, Bill Paxton and Kelly LeBrock. The film was a modest hit filled with psycho biker gangs, mutated bully brothers and cartoonish hijinks that was miles away from The Breakfast Club. The movie inspired a long running television show of the same name, but the film universe has remained untouched. No sequel, no reboot, no chips, dips, chains or whips. And so the SequelQuest crew along with returning guest host, Colin are ready to revisit the idea of nerdy teens creating a magical friend to help them achieve their dreams in this podcast adventure that's not afraid to get WEIRD!  SequelQuest | A Weird Science Sequel | EP119Stream our SequelQuest Back Catalogue from the links below or find the show on the NEW TRN Feed on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, Podbean, SoundCloud and more.SequelQuest Back Catalogue:NEW!  The House Show 011 - WWF In Your House 11: Buried Alive | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:36:35

The House Show is back in a retro state of mind! After last week's current day review, The House Show goes all the way back to 1996 for the eleventh edition of the In Your House series. Buried Alive was held at the Market Square Arena in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 20th in front of nearly 10,000 fans.As the name implies the main event of this match will see either the Undertaker or Mankind buried alive inside of an open gravesite within the arena. A match which will see the debut of one of the "greatest" Superstars of all time. The show opens hot with the reason you're all here, headset issues! Heel Jim Ross has issues at the announce table and it affects the entire show. Which is a shame, because there's a lot of talented Superstars on this card who deserved more attention. Heels wrestle against heels! Dogs and cats, living together! We have many questions this episode. How awful do front row fans have to be before they're kicked out? Does Mr Perfect keep women in his garage? How did Sid get over? Who thought heel JR would get over? And what is the proper method to shovel dirt into a grave?Plus, Matty Treats and the Educator surprise Kevin with an intervention. His TikTok addiction is out of control. The co-hosts don't hold back and it gets savage. Classy, bougie, ratchet. Sassy, moody, nasty.Tonight's matches include:"Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs. Hunter Hearst Helmsley.Owen Hart and the British Bulldog (WWF tag team champions) (with Clarence Mason) vs. The Smoking Gunns."The Wildman" Marc Mero (Intercontinental champion) (with Sable) vs. Goldust (with Marlena).Sycho Sid vs. Vader (with Jim Cornette) in a #1 Contender match for the WWF title. The Undertaker vs. Mankind (with Paul Bearer) in a Buried Alive match. The Retro Network’s own Kevin Decent (@MaskedLibrary) along with his two best friends “Sweet” Matty Treats (@MattyTreats) and Matt “the Educator of Excellence” are revisiting the WWF’s In Your House pay per view events over the course of the worldwide quarantine. This trios team has been watching wrestling all their lives and debating the outcomes since high school.  SequelQuest Rewind | A Garbage Pail Kids Sequel | EP61 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 59:34

(From November 2017)They’re grimy, they’re goopy, they’re all a little loopy…it’s the Garbage Pail Kids movie! Did you know these deformed Cabbage Patch dolls got their own movie in 1987 starring Mackenzie Astin from The Facts of Life? The film actually happened and was promptly taken out with the trash.Adam and Jeramy decided to do some dumpster diving with special guest, Chad from horrormoviebbq.com and talk about what could possibly be done to create a Garbage Pail Kids The Movie sequel. Warning: It gets gross. In addition to reminiscing about the original GPK fad of the late 80s, we let our imaginations run wild on how these gross-out goblins could hit it big in a modern world. We propose a universe where Will Smith is secretly a Garbage Pail Kids fan, a kid actor from Stranger Things gets the lead role and uncover the secret of who is buying all those G.I. Joe figures online.Listen now for some trashy, toxic fun on SequelQuest. SequelQuest Rewind | A Garbage Pail Kids Sequel | EP61Stream our SequelQuest Back Catalogue from the links below or find the show on the NEW TRN Feed on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, Podbean, SoundCloud and more.SequelQuest Back Catalogue:NEW!  The House Show Bonus Episode - Battle Royal at the Albert Hall | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:52:52

A special bonus episode of The House Show presented as part of The Retro Network's 1st anniversary celebration! How did we decide to review this event outside of our usual series? This came from a listener request! None of us had ever watched this event before and were looking forward to seeing something old but brand new to us.This event took place October 3, 1991 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England in front of 5,000 fans. This is a few years before WWF In Your House began so there is plenty of talent seen here that we have not had the occasion to discuss. The Battle Royal was just added to the WWE Network in February 2018 and previous to that was a difficult event to find on VHS. Trust us. This is on the WWE Network but it's a bit difficult to find. Type in Albert Hall and that will help.Your hosts start by throwing love and praise on your announcers for this evening: Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby "the Brain" Heenan. Were the Nasty Boys good? Who is the real world's champion? Why didn't Tito Santana change his trunks? How is a wrestler "fat" and fast? We point out the differences in the ring between now and then. Why do we keep looking at the Texas Tornado's feet? The Undertaker has one of his greatest ring entrances of all time. Why do some of these guys look so big? Allegedly. All of these questions plus match break downs, side tangents, and witty banter.Tonight's match card:The Nasty Boys (with Jimmy Hart) vs. The Rockers.Ric Flair vs. Tito Santana.Earthquake (with Jimmy Hart) vs. Big Boss Man.The Mountie (with Jimmy Hart) vs Texas Tornado. The Undertaker (with Paul Bearer) vs. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan. The Legion of Doom (WWF Tag Team Champions) vs. Power and Glory. The British Bulldog vs. The Barbarian.20 Man Over the Top Rope Battle Royal participants include:Texas Tornado, Typhoon, Earthquake, Tito Santana, the Mountie, Shawn Michaels, Marty Jannetty, Barbarian, Big Boss Man, Hercules, Paul Roma, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, Jerry Saggs, Brian Knobs, Ric Flair, Hawk, Animal, British Bulldog, Undertaker, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.Plus a special appearance by a WWF legend! SequelQuest Rewind | A Supergirl Sequel | EP15 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:40:24

(From May 2016)This is our wildest, goofiest, most outrageous episode yet and why not, we’re taking on the challenge of creating a sequel to the 1984 atomic stinker, Supergirl. You know, the film about Superman’s cousin that was so bad Christopher Reeve backed out of a minor cameo and Warner Brothers refused to release it?With former Hollywood heavyweights like Faye Dunaway, Peter O’Toole, Mia Farrow and newcomer Helen Slater in the title role, you would think it this superhero spin-off had what it takes to match the legacy of Richard Donner’s Superman, but you would be wrong.Take hero with inexplicable logic, a villain whose fashion rivals the cast of Dynasty and a story that basically amounts to a super-powered catfight over a hunky doofus and it’s plain to see why this was a super-bomb at the box office. But it makes for some great comedy! The Maiden of Steel has made a comeback recently on the popular CBS Supergirl TV series, but how do you continue the adventures of Kara Zor-El in a cinematic world now defined by Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel? Jeff, Justin and Adam came up with some pretty epic ideas and managed to work in a musical number that’s sure to offend somebody.Listen in and tell your friends! SequelQuest Rewind | A Supergirl Sequel | EP15Stream our SequelQuest Back Catalogue from the links below or find the show on the NEW TRN Feed on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, Podbean, SoundCloud and more.SequelQuest Back Catalogue:NEW!  The House Show 010 - WWF In Your House: Mind Games | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:48:29

On today's episode we talk about a WWF that is just about to change. WCW Monday Nitro has taken the lead. The kids who worshiped Hulk Hogan are now teenagers and young adults wanting something more edgy. WWF isn't yet fully committed to taking the product in a new direction. An upstart more mature company is getting noticed and fans are treating them as an equal alternative to WWF. All of this comes to a head September 22, 1996 from the CoreStates Center in the home of Extreme - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!15,000 of the hardest to please wrestling fans on earth showed up for the tenth installment in the In Your House series. Kevin asks Matty Treats if he is one of those fans. As usual we comment on what the front row is doing and, wait a minute! They don't work here! Why are ECW wrestlers Tommy Dreamer and Sandman along with Paul Heyman sitting in the front row? We talk about wrestlers that appear but don't have matches, like the legendary Fake Diesel and Fake Razor. Discussion of Jim Cornette's wrestling talent. Rodeo Sunny appears. Jim Ross begins his heel turn. Mankind is in phenomenal shape. Kevin makes too many anime references. Then we talk about one of the most violent matches we've seen since this podcast began and how it matches up with our nostalgic memories. All of this plus our trademark match breakdowns, wrestling history, side stories, and bad jokes.Tonight's matches include:Savio Vega vs. Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw (with Uncle Zebekiah) in a Caribbean Strap Match.Jose Lothario vs. Jim Cornette.Owen Hart and the British Bulldog (with Clarence Mason) vs. The Smoking Gunns with Sunny (WWF Tag Team Champions).Mark Henry vs. Jerry "the King" LawlerThe Undertaker vs. Goldust (with Marlena).Shawn Michaels (WWF Champion) (with Jose Lothario) vs. Mankind (with Paul Bearer).
