Harken Media published her debut novel, Whasian, on November 2, 2015. Growing up as a mixed racial child, Joy never knew where she fit in which caused identity confusion on her part. This led her to being doubtful and never committing to anything. Once she decided to embrace her identity, that is when her confidence also came out in the process.
