Partially my fault, for not sitting down at Fifty West in a while, and partially Fifty West's fault for having so much going on with their brewery... there's a lot to talk about when you talk about what's been happening here! We talk the punch out, world beer cup, and even the "road to craft" for Bobby Slattery. It's an action packed episode of Cincy Brewcast, that's for sure! The story of Cincinnati beer is one of growth right now, but what that term means is vastly different for each of our breweries. This episode we'll sit down with Bob and Betty from Fibonacci to talk about their growth, and expansion with the addition of Fib Farm to Fibonacci. What's it all mean? We'll dig in and find out - and also drink a couple beers in the process.

It's been a while since we last sat down with March First (their taproom hadn't even opened, yet). We dove in with them on all the details about the ways having a distillery and brewery together make things easier and harder on the brewing team. We explore what the future holds for this fantastic taproom, including some major expansion plans that are taking shape.

I was joined this week by Ben Conniff, host of the upcoming Craft Crew podcast to talk about what's happening in local craft beer right now. We drank a few beers, and explored all the releases and events that we could squeeze into an hour.

We dig in and figure out who they are, where they came from, and what makes a place like Fretboard work so well in the Cincinnati Craft Beer community. These guys mean business, and their business is delicious.

There's been a lot going on in local beer lately, and I wanted to try to catch you up on some of that, while letting you know how delicious this new beer from Cincinnati's biggest brewery is!

I was joined by Christopher Walker from Have a Drink, Mike Stuart from MadTree and Greg Avola from Untappd to explore how the Untappd app has changed the act of drinking beer for so many people in the world. What is it? Where is it going? We have so many questions to throw at Greg and he fields them all. In addition we pestered the Brew Professor himself about MadTree and this mysterious Sensorium Series that they've been hinting at. We get the lowdown on that, plus so much more! The road to becoming a beer destination is becoming more and more clear with a few recent big news stories that have come out. My recent trip down to North Carolina provides a great backdrop (and some great beer to drink during the discussion) to talk about Beer Tourism with Craft Beer Joe. What does it take to make a city a real destination, and is Cincinnati close to cracking the code?

It was a last minute decision for a show this week, but we were hot off of a long weekend out of town, with a sick baby (and a sick gnome) and we had a few beers that we wanted to try. After firing up Instagram Live, we threw this together, and now you get to listen to the result!

I was joined this week by head brewer Jason Surniak to talk about what QCBC does to change minds on a daily basis, as well as how things are going to keep growing and changing at the brewery. If you've never been, you need to clear next years calendar. Bockfest is a really unique celebration, not just in Cincinnati, Ohio but anywhere. We recorded this week's episode live at Bockfest Hall and talked to Steve Hampton about what the festival is. We also talked to Roxanne Westendorf about the Homebrew competition that takes place at each years festival. If that wasn't enough, Greg Hardman joined us to talk about the brewery's new Original Lager and how they straddle the two sides of Moerlein, the past and the present. Its action packed... it's Cincy Brewcast!

As the mighty Ohio River rises around town, Cincy Brewcast finds itself at 13 Below.  We were there to offer up a pint or two to the river gods, to attempt to appease their quickly approaching waters, but more importantly were there to talk about beer.  13 Below has been open for around 6 months, so it’s high time to dig in deep and figure out all about this west side brewery and to see what makes them tick. Of course… the best way to figure a brewery out is to drink a few of their beers, so we made sure to do that too! DogBerry was just a little nano-brewery when they opened their doors in 2015. Now here we are, they're filling 20 taps from their new, shiny 10bbl brewhouse, they've got cans hitting shelves this week, and yet the managed to take all the best parts of their brewery, and not change them in the process. It's a balancing act, and an amazing topic for a show. I was joined by Tony Meyer, Brent Garland, and David McKinney to talk all things DogBerry! Oh... we drank a few beers too.
