What to Watch on Netflix

This week, we’ve got curated family sitcoms that will make you feel good when you’re feeling down. Comedian Matt Bellassai (host of Unhappy Hour with Matt Bellassai) gushes about Moira Rose and Schitt’s Creek; Netflix employee Jessica wants you to watch Kim’s Convenience, and we have Joa Tous, another Netflix employee, talking about how One Day At A Time reminds her of her own family. 

Reality shows can be more than meets the eye. We’ve put together a list of reality TV shows for people who might not consider themselves fans of the genre. This episode, we’ve got Who? Weekly podcast host Lindsey Weber who loves the Japanese show Terrace House. Then Netflix employee Amelia gets down with "drag queen superstar" Alyssa Edwards on Dancing Queen. And finally, another Netflix employee, Emma Page, finds life in The Casketeers, a show about a Māori funeral home in New Zealand. 

The Umbrella Academy is Netflix’s latest addition and we have creator Steve Blackman, writer Gerard Way, and the cast on hand to talk about what they’re watching. Emmy Raver-Lampman and Robert Sheehan both recommend Mindhunter, Mary J. Blige loves the girl power in Doctor Foster, and Gerard Way gets into Tidying Up with Marie Kondo. This Valentine's Day, cuddle up and get ready to watch these curated series. Tideland's Madeleine Madden recommends one of her favorite animated series, Big Mouth. There's even a Valentine's Day Big Mouth special out right now! We also have Kristina, a Netflix employee, who relates to the way Master of None portrays dating. And finally Jarrett, another Netflix employee, thinks the new Netflix Original dating show, Dating Around, is one to add to your list. 

We’ve got three kid shows that you don’t need to be a kid to watch. Chance Perdomo, who you know as Ambrose Spellman from Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, wants you to watch the show that shaped him: Naruto. Then we have Kristin, a Netflix employee, raves about She-Ra. And finally Dylan, another Netflix employee, recommends Trollhunters, which he and his other 30 year old roommates love to watch together. 

For our inaugural episode, we curated a list of documentary films you won't want to miss. Ncuti Gatwa, who you know as the loveable Eric on Sex Education, recommends watching 13th. Edwin, a Netflix employee, thinks you should give Shirkers a try. And finally, Emily, another Netflix employee, is all about the new documentary Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened.
