The Gratitude Podcast - Stories That Inspire Positive Thinking & Gratitude
Summary: Gratitude is the one thing that helped me most in my life from all the personal development and spiritual practices that I did and that’s why I want to inspire 100.000 people to discover how to feel grateful more often and live a happy life. "It's not happiness that makes us grateful; it's gratefulness that makes us happy." - David Steindl-Rast I do this by interviewing successful people and getting them to share fascinating stories about how gratitude has helped them get to where they are now. Dr Howells has been teaching in various university contexts for the past two decades. Before taking up her position at the University of Tasmania in 2006, she was Director of Learning and Teaching in the Faculty of Commerce and Economics at the University of New South Wales and lecturer in the UNSW Graduate Certificate of University Learning and Teaching. From 1991 to 2001 Kerry was a lecturer in philosophy and learning strategies at Bond University. Thank you Stephanie for telling me about Dr Howells and her work! :) Dr Howells has applied her approach on the potential of gratitude in enhancing teaching and learning to many teaching and leadership roles and in invited presentations at ten different universities and seven schools in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, many of which have participated in her research on the role of gratitude in education. Kerry was awarded the Faculty of Education Research Award in 2014 in acknowledgement of the national and international impact of her research on gratitude. Kerry was also a 2014 TILT Fellow, where she was involved in creating communities of practice that focus on book clubs where UTAS academics from a wide variety of faculties read and discussed her book, Gratitude in Education: A Radical View, and the role of gratitude in enhancing the student experience. Can you see limitations as a gift? You can if you look at things the right way. If it's not a gift for you, it can be a gift you give to others. I'm not talking about not overcoming certain limitations, but about embracing some of them, so you can live a better life, in the presence of other people that eager to complete you. :) Become a supporter of this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-gratitude-podcast/support
You might not like your life right now, no problem, I get it, but I'm sure that at some point it was much worse. It's not about lamenting, but about appreciating where you are now and how much you grew. :) This brings more gratitude and progress in your life. Happy Independence Day to all my american gratitude seekers! :) This is a special episode for you, but I'm sure that our fellow Canadian and Australian gratitude seekers can relate as well. As for the rest of us from Europe, we have another kind of story, but honoring our ancestors for building the countries that we enjoy today, is still something that we can do. :) Enjoy!
