Special Olympics turned 50-years-old in July. We celebrated this milestone with President and Managing Director of Special Olympics Africa Region Mr Charles Nyambe. Boxing South Africa has been accused of flouting the rules by allowing a Mandela celebration tournament to go ahead, without full purse monies being paid, as per the rules. We opened the show with Super Rugby chat with Vata Ngobeni and also paid tribute to Swallows Rugby Club, that lost 3 players in a car accident over the weekend. Eastern Cape Promoters Association have written to Boxing SA asking why the Mandela legacy tournament was allowed to go ahead, despite purse monies not being paid, as per the rules. BSA Chairperson Dr Peter Ngatane, Xaba Promotions Chairman Ayanda Matiti and Thando Zonke joined us to clarify the matter.

In Our Careers in Sport Feature - Tonight we celebrated internationally acclaimed golf-rules official Mr Theo Manyama from Alex. The man has officiated in 16 successive US Masters, nine US Opens, 19 consecutive British Open Championships and the PGA Championships. His son, who’s also an internationally acclaimed Golf Rules official, joined us later on the show to both educate about what it takes to be a top gun in Golf.

We kicked off the show with not so good news as we crossed over to Sri Lanka to get reaction from Proteas Camp after a disappointing 2-0 series defeat to Sri Lanka, assistant coach Malibongwe Maketa joined us. Lastly we took a closer look at Percy Tau’s move to Brighton Hove Albion, Brian Owen – Sports Reporter for The Argus in Brighton, England gave us the low down.
