Recapping a wild opening day of NBA free agency: The Lakers are still very much in the hunt for Kawhi Leonard, who can Rob Pelinka sign if the team gets or misses out on Leonard to fill out the roster, plus more with Harrison Faigen | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2778

In this episode, Harrison Faigen and Jas Kang breakdown the opening day of NBA free agency. The biggest news is that Kawhi Leonard still has not made a decision and the Lakers are reportedly still very much in the mix. The guys get into if waiting for Kawhi is the best way to go and if the team did itself a disservice by missing out on most of the other available names. If Rob Pelinka is able to get Kawhi signed, or he strikes out with The Finals MVP, who can the Lakers bring in to fill out their roster behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis? Following that, Harrison and Jas talk about how the Lakers benefitted from teams overpaying for certain free agents, plus how Pelinka can get creative moving forward. To wrap things up,  Harrison and Jas get into Brooklyn Nets getting Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, D'Angelo Russell moving to the Warriors, plus share their thoughts on the Jimmy Butler move to the Miami Heat.  Learn more about your ad choices.  The Lakers clear enough cap space to sign a max player, Kawhi is rumored to meet with the Lakers, could Klay be in the purple and gold? and more with Anthony Irwin | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2578

In this episode, Anthony and Jas kick things off by discussing the Lakers shipping Moe Wagner, Isaac Bonga and Jemerrio Jones to the Wizards, clearing up enough cap space to sign another max-level free agent and how this provides some level of vindication for Rob Pelinka, although the job is not done yet. With the move, the rumors are pouring in. Kawhi Leonard will reportedly meet with the Lakers once free agency kicks and if the Warriors don't offer Klay Thompson the max, he will apparently meet with the team as well. What if neither guy ends up in the purple and gold next season? Anthony and Jas get into if the Lakers should chase a player like Jimmy Butler with all the cap space they have available, or use the money to bring in multiple players, including D'Angelo Russell. Following that, the guys look into which of the older, cheaper veterans would be a good fit on the squad next year as well as who is the best option available to fill in the center spot. To wrap things up, Anthony and Jas give what their sales pitch would be to Kawhi Leonard to come join the Lakers.  Learn more about your ad choices.  D'Angelo Russell: Future-Future-Former-Future Laker | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1915

On this episode of I Love Basketball, Sasha left her microphone in Los Angeles when she traveled up the coast to make fun of sad Warriors fans this weekend, so the quality is horrifically subpar. Sasha also has a coughing fit midway through, for which she can only throw herself prostrate in front of you and beg for forgiveness. Please accept this token of gratitude in the form of a hot tip that if you can get past the first ten minutes of this sh*tshow, you’re actually gonna hear some halfway decent analysis about everyone’s favorite future-future-former-future Laker D’Angelo Russell.  Will the Lakers be able to get a max cap space slot after the Pelicans trade the No. 4 pick to the Hawks? Should the Lakers choose depth over another superstar and a breakdown of the Talen Horton-Tucker pick with Jacob Rude | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3535

In this episode, Jas is joined by Jacob Rude. The big news from the NBA Draft was that the Lakers picked Virginia forward, De'Andre Hunter with the No. 4 pick, which we all thought was going to New Orleans as part of the Anthony Davis trade. But, the Pelicans ended up making a deal with the Atlanta, sending Hunter to the Hawks. With this move, the focus shifts to if the Hawks are willing to absorb the contracts of Isaac Bonga, Jermerrio Jones and Moe Wagner. If they're willing to do play ball, it would give the Lakers would be able to open up a max slot. Jacob and Jas get into if the Lakers should go that route, or use the cap space to acquire more veteran depth. Following that, the guys get into who could be potential targets for the Lakers in free agency and how they can fill out the roster under both scenarios as well as discuss the potential of the Lakers signing players to one-year deals and then look to bring in another big name in 2020. To wrap things up Jacob and Jas breakdown the Lakers selection of Taylor Horton-Tucker at No. 46 after trading a future pick and cash to the Orlando Magic. Learn more about your ad choices.  Drink Deep From the Cup of Anthony Davis, Lakers Fans | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2880

Draft picks, shmaft shmicks. Harrison of "Lake Show" and Sasha of "I Love Basketball" get hype for the next few years of watching Anthony Davis play basketball with Lebron James on their favorite team. Who cares about the odd first round draft pick in 2025 when the next few years will be so lit? They break down the drafting rights exchanges from the trade deal and come to the conclusion that numbers are indeed stupid and hedonism is truly the way forward. Then news breaks! Mid-recording, a Woj-bomb throws shrapnel into the air. The Lakers have made Moe Wagner, Isaac Bonga, and Jemerrio Jones available for trade to a third team in order to clear cap space for a potential max free agent. Rob Pelinka, a man on truly paper thin ice with Lakers fans, is clawing and scratching his way to a third star. It's a good time to rep the purple and gold, y'all. Learn more about your ad choices.  The Lakers traded for Anthony Davis, but can they sign another star? It's complicated | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3019

Our long national nightmare is over, because the Lakers finally traded for Anthony Davis. Joining host Harrison Faigen to break it all down is Jeff Siegel (@jgsiegel) of earlybirdrights.com, and they talked about how much the Lakers gave up, how the timing of the deal probably eliminates the Lakers from being able to sign another max free agent, and why it was still probably the right path for the team to take.  What happens with Kawhi after the Raptors win the championship and what is holding up the Anthony Davis deal? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2162

In this episode, Alex Regla and Jas Kang breakdown the Raptors championship and what it means for Kawhi Leonard's pending free agency. Does bring a title to Toronto make it less or more likely that he stays in Canada, or does this open the door for the Lakers? The Leonard rumors have been dormant, but with the season officially over, the spotlight will begin to shine on the quiet superstar.  Now that the on-court portion of the season is complete, the focus turns to player movement, and there's no bigger name in play than Anthony Davis. With the Lakers believing they're in the driver seat to get the deal done, why is David Griffin not pulling the trigger on the trade? Are the Pelicans stringing the Lakers along to try and get a better package out of Danny Ainge and the Boston Celtics? The Lakers biggest rivals apparently haven't been deterred by Davis' agent, Rich Paul, saying his client will likely leave in the summer of 2020. The guys discuss which teams package is more appealing and how much things have changed since the debacle at the trade deadline this past February.  Alex and Jas then get into how the Lakers and Pelinka have to find a way to bring AD west and what it means for the organization if they don't. Even with the worst-case scenario occurring, the Lakers will still have enough cap space to be a major player in free agency.  Learn more about your ad choices.
