Onramp’s Purpose In My Pursuit | The Pursuit | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 38:39

I've been hinting at slowing down, freeing up my schedule, having more experiences with Ang and the boys, taking better care of myself, and spending more time exploring my creative interests. I've told you I'd be able to share more about it and now is that time. I stepped down at Onramp Invest on February 28th--it was a decision that was made last year and had been a work in progress. Some recent changes at Onramp, which I will not be discussing in this episode (sorry no inside stories here) just sped up my departure by a few weeks. In this episode I discuss how this manifestation to bring my ideal day actually started a couple of years ago with some personal planning I was doing with a mentor of mine. I didn't realize then what I was setting into motion and as I realized what I wanted, the Universe brought it to me much sooner than I anticipated. I also touch on a tweet from Dr. Rhoiney (a past guest) that had me thinking about how do I want to be remembered as a father--something having more time in my life should allow me to accomplish. You'll also catch me uncovering something very important in real time at the end of the episode--pretty special if you as me. Ok, enough reading...let's get to The Pursuit. https://youtu.be/t5vfBnREqg0 Apple Podcasts Google Podcasts Spotify Disclaimer: Nothing on this blog should be considered advice, or recommendations.  Gratitude | The Pursuit | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4:01

Short and sweet this week. With the invasion of Ukraine this week, it didn't seem like a good time to record a full episode. So give this a quick 3 minute listen and then use the rest of the time that would have been spent listening reflecting on what you are grateful for. https://youtu.be/3d2eDV71Kgs Apple Podcasts Google Podcasts Spotify Disclaimer: Nothing on this blog should be considered advice, or recommendations.  Failure Is Not An Option | The Pursuit | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 26:20

A tweet from Jack Butcher inspired today's topic for discussion. There really is no such thing as "failing" because every event we view as a failure is actually a learning lesson--an opportunity to find growth. So as you go on your Pursuit, there will be pivots you will make and things may not always turn out the way you had planned but they will always present a lesson that will help you as you continue your Pursuit.  Midlife Awakening | The Pursuit | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 36:29

As this episode drops on my 40th birthday, I can't help but be excited for the upcoming year, decade, and beyond. My personal growth over the last couple of years had led me to a place where I feel in greater control of my destiny and with the ability to create the life I want for my family. I've realized the core values I've always lived by can be lived with great intent and move me closer to a life of minimal regret, maximum happiness, and a life well-lived. I want to share these values and beliefs with you so you have an opportunity to uncover them for yourself before I did or as soon as possible if you're in the 40+ crowd.  The Kickoff | The Next Episode | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 28:01

In this first episode of The Next Episode, Terry and I discuss what to expect from the newest show on All About Your Benjamins and dive a little further into the topic of "accomplishments". We initially discussed this on The Pursuit and picked that conversation back up in this episode.  F**k The Haters With Dr. David Rhoiney | The Pursuit | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 34:21

I was scrolling through Twitter last week and saw my friend Dr. David Rhoiney share his thoughts about why we shouldn't let the opinions of others impact our happiness and Pursuit--especially when it's hate or doubt. It's important to understand that as you begin to blaze your own path there will inevitably be others who will not support you. So many individuals are stuck in lives they wish they could change but lack the courage, drive, or vision to escape. It makes them sad, angry, and even miserable and we know misery loves company. Tune them out. As Dr. Rhoiney shares your happiness should not be dependent on the happiness of someone else, especially if that someone else isn't anyone you know.  Reinforcement From Jay Shetty’s Think Like A Monk | The Pursuit | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 29:46

We all suffer from imposter syndrome from time to time. I began reading Jay Shetty's Think Like A Monk earlier this week and as I made my way through the first chapter I couldn't help but get excited because I saw many of the ideas I've arrived at in his words and even some of the topics from The Pursuit. In this episode I reinforce some of my beliefs and thoughts through the words of Jay Shetty.  Week In Review–Market Commentary 1/23/22 | All About Your Benjamins The Podcast | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 27:58

This week's Week In Review was a market commentary instead of a discussion on headlines from the week. I felt it was important to review some evergreen data and talking points about portfolios, why we invest, what to expect from markets, and more--especially if we continue to see the stock market decline. This is the audio from that video--if you'd like more of these from time to time, let me know and I can certainly work them into the channel.  Ramblings on Why and Time | The Pursuit | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 27:43

Today's episode was not planned out Thursday night, which is the normal game plan. Sometimes when you are on your Pursuit you just have to keep moving forward and trust the next move, or in this case episode, will reveal itself when the time is right. Before I went to bed last night I cracked open Seneca's On The Shortness Of Life and found the Spark for today's episode on the first page. Today's episode is less structured than usual but was perfect for what I wanted to discuss.  The Next Episode | The Pursuit | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 45:40

It was time for a guest on The Pursuit and in this episode I'm joined by my dad, Terry Castelli, to discuss starting a new chapter book in his life. The episode begins with us discussing his comment at our breakfast about "accomplishment" that was the topic for last week's episode and then dive deeper into what he's learned and observed in his life on his Pursuit. I think this is the best episode of The Pursuit yet and I'm excited to introduce the All About Your Benjamins Family to my dad.  “What Have I Accomplished?” | The Pursuit | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 20:41

Is the path you're currently on leading you toward a sense of accomplishment? And is that "accomplishment" defined by you or by others? During breakfast with my dad this week he mentioned looking back on his career, he recently retired, and not being sure of what he accomplished and for whom? This comment stuck out to me and I immediately grabbed my notebook and knew I had my topic for this week's episode of The Pursuit. Along the lines of minimizing regret, be sure your Pursuit is leading you toward your own definition of accomplishment and no one else's.  Defining and Following Your Passion | The Pursuit | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 27:01

When you allow your passion to be your guide, the north star on your compass, it will lead you to where you are supposed to go and to happiness. You first have to identify your true passion(s) and have the courage to pursue it. "When we believe in what we're doing, we stop mindlessly clocking in. We become more innovative, creative, and present. We're not only working harder, but smarter because both our hearts and our minds are genuinely engaged by the endeavor."  The Pursuit–Chapters | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 29:42

And always faith in the unknown." --Kendrick Lamar As you go on your Pursuit there will be people, opportunities, interests, and passions that will become the primary focus of the chapter you are writing. In order to progress on your Pursuit you will need to learn that one chapter will need to end before a new can begin, and despite the fear of the unknown, it should be embraced and excite you are you are getting closer to the person you want to be or the life you want to have.  The Pursuit–Planning For Your Pursuit | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 33:58

It's time to put on my financial advisor hat to discuss ideas to consider for your financial planning. Before we get to the strategies, we first have to redefine the focus of our plan and I share how making your values the center of your plan, which requires more focus and attention on them than when we just align our values with our dollars. We'll review this week's illustration and what it represents.
