When people suffer an injury or any other challenge - fear and short term thinking can take over.  This leads to paralysis - a helplessness- and you desperately look for someone to save you. This is a natural response - but a reactive response - and not a proactive response.   In virtually every story told - there is a hero.  The hero is not perfect.  The hero has problems and struggles.  He then meets a guide who gives them a plan.  If the hero follows the plan - he succeeds.  If he does not, he fails.   In order to succeed YOU have to execute the plan.  The guide doesn't execute it for you! Did Mr. Miyagi fight the fight, or did Karate Kid?  If you don't execute - and expect the guide to do the work for you - you will become frustrated - point fingers - and ultimately fail. Here are a couple of questions that we get all the time… How long will it take to fix my problem?  When can I go back to what I was doing before the pain started? The truth is… the truth will set you free! Recovery, maintenance, and self-discovery are a lifelong journey – and not to be stopped when you hit a certain level. If you stop – you regress – period! In comparison to a car – you think you have been in cruise control and living your life – but in reality you have been in neutral and heading down a mountain road with no brakes. You had to jerk the car off the road – and then hit into some barriers. Now your car is damaged. Putting it back on the road and continuing the coast downhill will leave you broken down on the side of the road for good – unless you do something different, and do it different forever. The process of building your physical strength and health is no different than building a career or another type of great achievement.  A plan + daily execution / the course of time = results! Chronic pain is not a disease that needs to be treated – its a matter of cause and effect. Take control of your body!

Andrew & I discuss our thoughts on orthotics, shoes, heel lifts, and what it has to do with the back and hip! Throughout 16 years of being in this profession, I’ve been exposed to just about every product out there and I have actively sought to find alternatives. Where do I stand today? For long term health, I don’t recommend any thing other than barefoot shoes. No orthotics, no lifts, no shape-u shoes, nada! The human is designed to have his barefoot connected to the earth. I also understand that everything is a process. If you are flat footed, wear orthotics and massively cushioned and supportive shoes. You can not just slap on some barefoot shoes and you are good to go. Your feet muscles have been asleep for years and years, and making a drastic change would result in foot, knee, or back pain. I would estimate that a transition like that would take 1-2 years, but what the hell else are you going to do?

The reason pain even exists is from an alignment problem, misuse, or disuse of the body. Therefore, even the best medical treatment or procedure on the planet will only give you a longer amount of temporary relief. Today I will passionately help you understand how to bridge the gap and move your ass past pain relief, and back to an active and amazing life.
