 Sword and Scale: Episode 85 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0

Published on 12 Mar 2017. There are few things more horrifying than the idea that your children can be taken from their beds, from their own home, while there's an adult sleeping inside, yet that's exactly what happened on the morning of Monday, Oct. 10, 2016 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. We, as a modern society, have systems in place, technological marvels, to prevent and deter these things from happening. However, in this case, the very system that was used to try and rescue the children ended up leading to their deaths. This is the bizarre story of Amber Pazstor told through her own words. We're joined by Brett Thomas from WAYN-TV Newschannel 16, who interviewed Pazstor from behind bars to find out why she chose to perform this horrible series of actions.

Casefile True Crime: Case 44: Peter Falconio | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0

Published on 28 Jan 2017. The desert roads of the Northern Territory are as long as they are desolate. If you stand still, your own heartbeat is the loudest sound you’ll hear. The thrill of the open road and the sheer expanse of the hot desert is an exciting drawcard for many, but for those used to big cities, busy beaches or in this case, the relentless rain and dark clouded skies of England, driving from Adelaide to Darwin was the thrill of a lifetime, and unlike anything they had experienced before. But it would soon turn into a nightmare… * * * Episode researched and co-written by Anna Priestland For all credits and sources please visit [**casefilepodcast.com/case-44-peter-falconio**](http://casefilepodcast.com/case-44-peter-falconio/)

 Sword and Scale: Episode 75 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0

Published on 12 Sep 2016. This is a bizarre tale. Part gruesome murder tale, part love story. Yes, you read that right.. None of of the Gainesville Ripper story makes much sense, but it made an entire university of 30,000+ students panic and leave their studies and futures behind, for the sake of their personal safety. This story also challenges our ideas of what crime-journalism is and should be. "Guilty until proven innocent?" ...that's not a well-recognized concept these days. And the media and public are quick to judge those on the periphery of the story as well. Sometimes their judgements are right, but sometimes they can equally be misguided.

But islands have played host to other less savory events over the years. And just because they can be small, it doesn’t mean they can’t be dark.

Criminal: Episode 5: Dropping Like Flies | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0

What’s cropped up in rural North Carolina is essentially a Venus Flytrap crime ring — with lackies, middle men, and a mysterious end buyer who’s perpetuating the market.
