The Monday American: American History Podcast

The nation undergoes several crucial events leading to all out war which had long become the only path available. America's Road to War: John Brown makes the decision to raid the federal arsenal at Harpers Ferry, VA. In doing so he becomes the martyr that the anti-slavery cause has been looking for. The country becomes engulfed in controversy in the aftermath of the raid by John Brown and his men, all the debate is centered around one central root cause: slavery in America.

The story of Eastern Airlines flight 855 and its near disaster. The crew experiences total engine failure while at 12,000 ft altitude. They frantically try to restart an engine as they plummet towards their watery grave at a rate of 1,600 ft per minute, leaving them only 7.5 minutes to impact. They begin the work needed to save all 172 passengers and crew on board that flight on May 5th, 1983.

This is the third part of a three part series that focuses on the American Revolution, one of the most unique of all revolutions in history. Part two of the September special where all month long we team up with the "Mulder Was Right" podcast for the massive topic of the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001.
