But my guest today argues that assumption is wrong and comes from viewing friendship from a strictly female point of view. In fact, based on his research, most adult men very much want good friends but just don’t know how to make them. What’s more, he says, male friendships look different from female ones and we should stop judging the quality of male friendships based on how women do them. Featured Content Burnout is defined as a complete loss of motivation; something that is close to a depression. As educators we all face it at some point of the year, it’s inevitable. In this episode, our conversation is based on episode 350 of the Art of Manliness Podcast – artofmanliness.com. More than ever American teachers are experiencing a 24/7 grind in and out of their classroom that requires a hustle that can actually hinder our performance in the classroom. We talk about the science of burnout: what it is, how it feels, and why it happens. Then based on our understanding of the information, we’ve got some recommendations for you to combat with burnout and fatigue as an educator. You might use a fun video, interactive website, or audio recording. Explore: Link resources, such as videos or articles, for students to explore more information. Explain: Clarify the learning objective for your students. This is where you could teach a whole group lesson with direct instruction, or add additional resources for students to explore.
