It was June 2015 and WikiLeaks released more that 60,000 cables from inside the Saudi Foreign Ministry. The leaks of the cables didn’t attract much news coverage at the time, but one cable has an eerie new relevance since Khashoggi’s murder. The cable involved U.S.-based Saudi dissident, Ali al-Ahmed, who became a target of the Saudi government.
