 Supergirl S3E11 & Black Lightning S1E2 Review | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 2:04:16

%CODE_SUPERGIRLS3E11% Shanna and The Doctor discuss the Supergirl Roadtrip to space as they seek more information on Reign from an old dark Priestess.  Through some convoluted challenges, only women can go, so Kara must recruit LiveWire and Psi.  Along with Imra, they infiltrate Fort Rozz but are quickly intercepted by Reign.  We also debate the appropriateness of sharing your romance grief with a 12 year old. Later, P-Funk and DB who host the Premium Star Wars Rebels cast join us to discuss the Blackity Black show Black Lightning, in an episode that saw a lot of bodies fall.  This show is so gritty and realistic with its stories, and has already started sparking debate, from the meta narrative on the futility of respectability to the debate around the use of the word "fast" to discuss young Black girls.  We also discuss the fact that this ain't your momma's CW DC television show, as the pacing is rapid and the stakes are high.  And yeah, about White thieves-thank you Black Lightning for giving us one this week.  The Flash Season 4×11 Review – The Elongated Knight Rises | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 38:16

Either you're in or you're out on Ralph Dibny. That's pretty much the takeaway from The Elongated Knight Rises. If you don't like Ralph, then this campy filler episode is a drag. If you do like him, then this was a nice distraction from the DeVoe storyline which has been pretty dark. We debate whether folks are being too harsh on Ralph because it's not what they expected or if it's just that bad. One thing we do agree on though is that the scenes with Barry in jail just don't make any sense. Last week Barry was so fast he had a full conversation with Iris in the courtroom that no one saw. This week he's worried about being spotted by cameras in the prison? None of it makes sense and we feel that they could easily solve these issues with simple throwaway lines. Finally we talk about how the "mystery girl" (It's Dawn Allen folks) fits into the storyline and what it could mean for this season or the next. Oh and if you're gonna take on Bill Goldberg in prison, use the shank.  %CODE_THEFLASHS4E11%

Arrow Season 6x10 Review - What Was the Damn Plan Oliver? | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 34:33

Hey, at least this episode wasn’t as bad as this week’s episode of The Flash right? For all the talk about Arrow doing the same thing over again, we do need to give some credit for the changes they make. Sure, in Divided, Oliver is back to being a lone wolf. And we still don’t know what his plan was (spoiler: he had no plan). But the end of the episode didn’t end how it has in the past. The new team splitting off onto their own is a new development. So credit where credit is due.   That said…we’d be okay with this split if the new team wasn’t 100% wrong. Dinah and Rene have no ground to stand on. Rene’s betrayal is what led to this whole thing yet she’s more upset with Oliver? It’s just really weird and doesn’t make sense.   Hey, Arrow still has some of the best choreographed fight scenes in the Arrowverse though.   Listen to get our full thoughts on this episode. Make sure you subscribe to Super Tuesday Recap so you don't miss a review. %CODE_ARROWS6E10%   Oliver discovers one of Cayden's secrets; he decides to team up with an unlikely ally to defeat him; Dinah spends time with Vince.

The Flash Season 4x10 Review - The Trial of the Flash - Everyone Gets Stupid | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:17:12

%CODE_FLASHS4E10% The Flash comes back from break with what might be their worst episode of any season. Trial of The Flash should have been a great emotional episode that shows the duality of Barry’s existence. Instead, the episode is pretty worthless. First, they cram everything into one episode instead of spreading it out. Even if they kept it in one episode, they could have at least given us some montages so it didn’t look like 1 day. Also, poor Cecile. In order to rush through this episode, Cecile is done no favors as they make this seasoned lawyer look completely idiotic. We are not lawyers but we’ve watched a lot of Law & Order and even we can pick apart the case against Barry Allen. I mean…she didn’t even call witnesses, namely ALL THE PEOPLE THAT WERE WITH BARRY WHEN DEVOE’S BODY WAS DUMPED. This episode is just very frustrating. In this review, Kriss and Dpalm talk about the narrative decisions that are hurting the Flash and question if 22 episodes are just too many for this show. Also, Kriss makes a solid argument for why having Barry reveal his identity is the shot in the arm this show needs. Oh and…Barry & Iris have a long ass conversation in the speed force in the middle of court? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE PEOPLE? We have a lot of questions (and frustrations) and sadly no answers.

Supergirl Review S3E10 and Black Lightning Review S1E1 - Super Tuesday Recap | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 1:23:49

%CODE_SUPERGIRLS3E10% CW's shows are back from the winter break and that means that Shanna & The Doctor are here to review not only Supergirl, but the latest addition to CW's superhero lineup, Black Lightning. Both episodes show CW's commitment to super hero content. Having just added Supergirl last season, this season CW is adding even more heroes to the show with the Legion of Superheroes. And Black Lightning represents an entirely different direction with not only lead black characters but black show runners and writers. So how did both episodes turn out? Listen to the full review to find out. Also make sure you join the MTR Network Facebook group to interact with the hosts and other fans to get in on the discussion! On Supergirl, Kara languishes in a coma while Brainiac-5 (Jesse Rath, No Tomorrow) attempts to help guide her back.  Meanwhile, the DEO works to  develop a plan of attack against Reign, who is bringing her own brand of justice to National City. On the premiere of Black Lightning, we meet the Pierce family in what has to be the Blackest introduction to a superhero hero in forever!  Agents of Shield S5E7 Review - Silent But Deadly...It's Always the Quiet Ones | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 48:21

That time of week again: Agents of Shield review time! So, Kasius didn’t die but he’s the only one that we thought died that survived. It works out though because we get a lot more background information on why Kasius was exiled. And we really get a lot more information on Sinara as well who seems to be the real dangerous one. It’s funny that a character that has barely spoken all season is the one that scares us (even moreso when she finally does speak).    We also love the fact that while all this is going really bad, the agents don’t lose their sense of humor. Fitz being a little upset that he’s not given enough credit for all he went through to get to the future. Flint and Mack bond and we’re back to black fatherhood moments. We end the review with Dpalm’s theories on the end of Infinity War, what Avengers 4 is about and how it all ties into season 5 of Agents of Shield.   %CODE_AOSS5E7%

 Agents of Shield Season 5 Episode 3 Review - Fun & Games | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 41:00

Back from a short break, Agents of Shield season 5 continues to impress.  Episode 6, Fun & Games, Clark Gregg takes over as director to give us an episode that might as well be called "Everyone Dies".  We weren't prepared for all the people that get taken out this episode. We should have been though because Agents of Shield has never shied away from a body count. Fitz is finally reunited with Simmons and makes us realize that none of us love anyone as much as Fitz loves Simmons. We also get some great fight scenes with May vs Ben and Daisy vs Sinara. We love the way that they keep evolving how they have Daisy use her powers. And we get more information on Flint as he's rescued by YoYo after going through terrigenesis.  This episode also pulls off something that can be tough for shows and that's seemingly killing off the villain and replacing them with someone else. It works for this episode because Kaisus's brother seems to be even more trouble than he is. Plus we still have Sinara around and she's scarier than both.
