Father is fed up with Kathy’s tall tales and makes her promise to tell the truth from now on.  Little did he know how seriously she would take that promise when she decides to tell the truth about everything and everybody to anybody who will listen.

The kids think Father forgot to buy mother an orchid for Valentine’s Day and pool their money to get one for her-which only sets a chaotic circumstance in motion for Father.

Jim drives himself and all around him crazy, including his neighbors in the middle of the night, when he tries to remember a name of someone he met.

The Father Knows Best Radio Podcast #29- Recreation Woes

In trying to win a radio contest for free furniture where movers hired by the station pick a random house to pick up the old furniture , Jim gives away his furniture to what he thinks are the radio station movers when they are real movers who coincidentally and mistakenly stop at the wrong house-The Andersons.

Jim somehow gets on his “soap box” and the conversation leads to how the city mayor is incompetent for not listening to "his" concerns. Kathy, trying to be helpful, takes it upon herself to write a letter to the Mayor stating just that-signing her father's name!

It’s 3 days after Christmas day and Jim is tired of eating turkey, turkey hash, turkey croquets, cold turkey and cream turkey. To make matters worse, he wins a 35-pound turkey in a raffle.  So, he decides  to have a New Year's party and invite all their friends to eat the turkey- which is not as quite a simple solution as Jim had thought.

Spending a day in bed to cure his cold proves anything but restful for Father.

Betty has a crush on her French teacher.

Jim realizes that Thanksgiving without the kids is not much of a celebration as each has a different plan for the holiday.

The Anderson kids are always in need of something that costs money  Jim suggests they go out and earn the money.

Jim is looking to impress his district supervisor with a genuine grilled steak dinner so he-along with well meaning but misguided Bud and Kathy assisting- decides to build the ultimate barbecue. 

If you’re a father like Jim Anderson-and especially in his household- there’s never enough time, never enough minutes, hours, or days to attend to the needs of his community and his kids and still have time to relax at home after a hard day's work.
