Community is something we all can picture but I doubt many of us think about it daily or even picture how much communities have changed over the last 10 years thanks to social media. Facebook had its first community summit this week and made a major announcement changing their full mission statement to: "Give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together"
Social Media Return On Investment is a funny topic as it's something that's been debated for many years and something that many people have proven possible yet there are still many naysayers or those that simply use the basic data available and treat social media as a check mark or lost cause.
How do I make sure the right audience is reading my content? How do I make sure my customers see what I’m posting on social media? How much is too much content and what social networks should I be on for my company and my personal brand? For each social network, for each piece of content and for each type of account we must first decide what success looks like, identify individual goals and link that to the tools and platforms we have available.
This first episode in June 2017 I want to share my thoughts on where the CMO duties will make changes in the future, the role digital transformation will play and how we teach and hire employees. Ultimately I believe the agencies, marketers and thought leaders that have sold rainbows and unicorns, faking it till they make it. Will now have to put up or shut up!
Since being diagnosed ADHD at 31 years old I've made it my mission to be transparent and upfront about the impact of being diagnosed has had on me personally as a Dad and my entrepreneurship journey. I firmly believe that as we become more transparent as a digital culture the value of owning our own individual vulnerabilities will be directly linked to our individual success as well as our relatability to the community.
