Believe it or not, there’s more going on at the cinema right now than a certain small picture set in a galaxy far far away. So while Andrew dozes in front of the cricket, Karl rounds up the best of the summer movie releases - and he’s convinced there are more than a few leaving the house for.

It's the end of the year, which means it's time for another Star Wars film. The Last Jedi is movie number eight in a trilogy of trilogies, and as far as Andrew is concerned the end can hardly come soon enough. But what does Karl say? Is the Force strong in him, or has he been tempted to join his Clappers co-host on the Dark Side? Speaking of warring factions, the chaps cast their eye over the tawdry tale of the two Village Peoples, and ponder the fate of some other manufactured pop acts through the years (Boney M, anyone? Milli Vanilli? Plastic Bertrand?)

The Disaster Artist is James Franco's movie about the making of The Room, which has famously been called "the Citizen Kane of bad movies". Yep, it's that bad. Franco plays Tommy Wiseau, the man who wrote, directed, starred in and paid for this $6 million fiasco. So, can good art come from bad? Speaking of which, Paul McCartney in concert: a very good thing (says Karl, who admits maybe he's amazed) or a very bad one (so says Andrew).

The Easybeats come to life in the terrific (if predictably named) drama Friday on my Mind, the tortured father-son relationship behind Winnie the Pooh makes for a surprisingly hard-headed film, tears flow at an afternoon of letters, and Andrew finds an answer to an underwear crisis.
