Episode 218: Ministry Talk with James Metsger (Wade Has Friends!) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:23:55

* 00:00 - Introduction * 00:00 - Free-for-All (No Free-for-All) * 21:30 - Main Topic (Ministry Talk with James Metsger) Wade has friends, or at least a friend! In this episode we prove it. In episode TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTEEN, Jason and Wade talk to Pastor James Metsger of Christ Point in Charlotte, North Carolina, one of Wade's best friends since high school. This was our first attempt at hosting a remote guest with the new equipment, and Wade was thrilled and grateful that James was able to be that first guest. While they took different paths and serve in different denominations (Wade is Lutheran and James is not Lutheran, and lets Wade refer to him as a Baptist for purposes of the episode, and because he knows from decades of experience that Wade is going to say what he wants no matter what), they both found their way into ministry. After years of talking about recording something, they finally did, and talked about their experiences and lessons learned since their days together in their youth. Jason adds perspective from his ministry as well, and gets to bond with James under the cross of friendship with Wade. We hope you enjoy the episode!  We are grateful to the 1517 podcasting network.  Episode 217: Promise and Curses, Anthropology, Part 5 (Genesis 3) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 41:09

* 00:00 - Introduction * 00:00 - Free-for-All (No Free-for-All) * 9:30 - Main Topic (Promise and Curses: Genesis 3) In episode TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTEEN, Mike, Jason, and Wade continue the guys' discussion of anthropology. We focus especially upon the relationship between God's promise and the curses at the end of Genesis 3 and how the gospel predominates, even in this darkest moment in mankind's history, the fall into sin, when death came into the world. They also test out new equipment, which we got a while ago, but Wade just now finally figured out. We hope it improves the sound of the podcast and it will make having guests on remotely way easier, so get ready for some fun guests. We had a guest or two lined up this week, but the weather put an end to that. Please feel free to email the weather to complain. As you'll notice, we can now incorporate sound effects, too, which Wade maybe enjoys too much. We hope you enjoy the episode!  We are grateful to the 1517 podcasting network.
