 Ramadan 2014 - Tafsir Surah Al-Fatiha - 14 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 11:52

A common theme in the Qur'an is the consistent change of tense in the structure of a Surah. Allah (suba¸hanahu wa ta'ala) will begin a verse in third-person and shortly after the proceeding verses will narrate from the first-person. When the average English speaking individual reads a translation of the Book of Allah this sudden shift in a narrative is seen as grammatically incorrect, which often makes them question the Divine Speech of Allah (suba¸hanahu wa ta'ala) and consider it flawed with grammatical errors. In this special Ramadan series episode of the Tafsir of Surat al-Fatihah Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi discusses the eloquence of the verse 'Iyaka Na`budu Wa 'Īyāka Nasta`Ä«n, and clarifies the misunderstanding of applying the grammatical rules of English to the Divine Speech of Allah (suba¸hanahu wa ta'ala) written in Arabic.

Unlike other religions, in Islam, we worship Allah (suba¸hanahu wa ta'ala) based upon three motivational factors of Love, Hope; Fear. In this special Ramadan series episode of the Tafsir of Surat al-Fatihah, Shaykh Dr Yasir Qadhi discusses the three motivational factors of worship; namely Love, Hope; Fear and the theological concepts of Monotheism, Messengers and the Day of Judgement.
