Our guest today is Lois Spangler. She is currently doing doctoral research in emergent narrative processes in tabletop role playing games at QUT in Brisbane, QLD. She was kind enough to give us several links for books and articles about transmedia and polyphony, two areas of narrative we discuss in this episode. Henry Jenkins and Transmedia: http://henryjenkins.org/2011/08/defining_transmedia_further_re.html http://henryjenkins.org/2006/06/welcome_to_convergence_culture.html http://www.amazon.com/Convergence-Culture-Where-Media-Collide/dp/0814742955/ http://filmsound.org/terminology/diegetic.htm Gives a film sountrack analysis of diegetic and non-diegetic; its always correllated in my head to IC/OOC, or in-game knowledge and metagaming. The wiki page gets a wee bit esoteric. Heres the wiki page on polyphony: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyphony_(literature) But the page on Mikhail Bakhtin gives nicer info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikhail_Bakhtin Books!
