U40: Twists and turns heading to signing day? OU vs. LSU. We're set | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:26:36

Oklahoma is set for the playoffs, that much we know. But before that, we have national signing day coming up Dec. 18 and the Sooners are looking to close strong. It started last night with some late night eyeball emojis from Lincoln Riley. We also have some potential drama developing with one of OU's longest commitments. The numbers are tight for the Sooners even with former targets coming on the market late. How will Riley and the Sooners manage it. We also get into some awards circuit talk with CeeDee Lamb hoping to bring up a Biletnikoff Award and Jalen Hurts travels to New York for the Heisman Trophy ceremony. We also talk a little LSU preview and go back a bit to look at the Big 12 Championship game. Lots of college football talk in this one both locally and nationally on the Midfirst Bank Unofficial 40 The full rundown follows below: 00:00 - Welcome the Sooners are going to the Playoffs, again 2:00 - EYE BALLS OUT 10:30 - Jase McClellan situation; what's going on? 21:00 - Team Talk / Big 12 Championship recap 35:00 - CFB Playoff talk / match up vs. LSU 48:00 - Joe Burrow ... he good 59:00 - College Football Awards (Thurs)/Heisman Trophy (Saturday) 1:17 - Recruiting weekend preview

U40: It's time for a rematch. Jim Mora, embrace the disaster. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:46:54

The College Football Playoff committee met and deliberated for hours and could only come up with Utah's strength of Friday night losses to third string quarterbacks from USC. So yep, the Sooners didn't pass the Utes in the next-to-last rankings. But, OU still has to beat Baylor to have any chance in this thing, regardless of what happens Friday night in the Pac-12 Championship. We get our angst out on the committee and we even give an apology to Heather Dinich for also trying to get Rob Mullens to actually say why Utah is ranked ahead of OU on the teleconference. Will Parnell Motley's Bedlam performance inspire others to take over as one-man wrecking crews against Baylor Saturday morning? How will the first matchup affect the second matchup? We'll hear from Alex Grinch on that as well as some fine conversational overcussing from Ronnie Perkins from Monday night. We also dialed into the recruiting game and hit up Josh for the latest on recruiting as national signing day is coming up Dec. 18. It's the Unofficial 40 brought to you by MidFirst Bank. The rundown follows below: 00:00 - Opener 03:30 - College Football Playoff Rankings 18:00 - Coaching Carousel Craziness 22:00 - Conference Championships 45:00 - Big 12 Championship; Baylor rematch 1:00:00 - Still talkin Sooners and emergence of OU's run game 1:17:40 - Eddie denies family talk; Let's talk recruiting 1:29:13 - Michael Thompson Jr departure; how do the schollies breakdown?

U40: Bedlam is coming. Will good Jalen or bad Jalen be joining them? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:48:33

The Midfirst Bank Unofficial 40 Bedlam edition is here and we're ready for the regular season finale in Stillwater. The Sooners head to Oklahoma State after being revealed as the No. 7 team in the College Football Playoff rankings. But there's still that pesky problem of turnovers hanging over this OU team as they head into enemy territory. How will this OU defense fare against Chuba Hubbard. Will the loss of Spencer Sanders play that big of a role Saturday? It was a huge pod for recruiting information too as the Sooners picked up a commitment in the middle of the pod. Which also meant they lost a commitment in the middle of the pod. The pod will explain that weirdness. The gang is ready for Bedlam, but also a full slate of games in the DFW metro area that we're going to be covering this weekend. Also some turkey talk and Josh's daughter decides she wants to join the podcast at one point. Happy Thanksgiving everybody! The full, Eddie approved rundown follows below: 00:00 - Hello and welcome. It's Bedlam. 20:00 - We're still talking CFB Playoff 32:50 - Lanie makes a U40 appearance 34:00 - Do you speak espanol? 43:00 - BREAKING: OU picks up a commitment during the pod 45:00 - What should Oklahoma fans know about Shane Whitter? 50:27 - BEDLAM TALK 58:00 - Jalen Hurts turnover problems 1:05 - Edgerrin Cooper decommits from Oklahoma 1:12 - Caleb Kelly situation 1:22 - More recruiting talk 1:32 - Previewing the weekend/HS playoffs

U40: Is there a path to the playoffs for OU? TCU is next | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:30:29

After the Sooners take down Baylor it's time to trek on to Week 11 and TCU. The Sooners are trying to play their way into the College Football Playoffs and Eddie says don't fear OU fans, everything will work out. Huh? We also talk about CeeDee Lamb's situation and all the rumors flying around. Not that Lincoln is hiding anything, but he doesn't do himself any favors with these conspiracy theories by being so tight-lipped on everything concerning injuries. We hit on a little bit of hoops and we talk about OU's last gameday recruiting weekend this season. What should you expect from potential visitors? Lots of weirdness in this pod as well. Eddie was on one today. The full Eddie rundown follows below: 00:00 - Opener 3:00 - Oh God. We are getting old. 7:15 - OU hoops 10:14 - LETS FOOTBALL. Baylor wrap up. 31:00 - CFB Playoff talk 43:00 - Texas! Little Tommy Herman!  U40: The one thing OU fans agree on? We all have lots of questions. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:28:35

To say it's tough being an OU football fan over the past few weeks is an understatement. What are we even mad at right now? Fan's leaving early? Lincoln Riley's playcalling? Jalen Hurts' turnovers? Florida State wanting Bob Stoops? The playoff committee? I think the thing that's bringing everyone together is our feeling that maybe OU doesn't deserve to be in the playoffs right now. Can they turn things around at Baylor? Does this team have a complete game in them? If they do, will it be enough? I changed my mind. The one thing that is bringing OU fans together right now is that we all have so many questions about this program and this season right now. Where to start? Where to begin? Start with the MidFirst Bank Unofficial 40 podcast. The whole gang is here to walk you through it. The full rundown provided by Eddie follows: 00:00 - Welcome, welcome intro 3:00 - College Football Playoff 14:00 - Alright, let's talk about ... Oklahoma football 21:40 - Florida State and Bob Stoops is still a thing. Wild. 28:00 - Bryce Thompson headed to Kansas; Trey Phipps signs with Oklahoma 35:00 - Recruiting notes ... 2020 QB commit coming? 51:00 - Team talk -- Headed to Waco

U40: Jalen Hurts and Bob Stoops make it a crazy 48 hours | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:32:00

What an interesting last few days it's been around the Scoop offices. Eddie trolls the Internet without actually doing it himself. We talk about the crazy out of context battle for the press conference future of Jalen Hurts and media at large. We also talk about how Bob Stoops somehow almost became the next head coach at Florida State but actually never did. Plenty of fired up participants in today's podcast. The first College Football Playoff rankings have been released. We talk about the path for the Sooners if they want to make it back to the CFB Playoffs. Also, huge basketball recruiting news is ready to come down next week and Josh McCuistion previews the upcoming weekend from a recruiting perspective. On this episode of the Midfirst Bank Unofficial 40 Podcast, the gang recaps Lincoln Riley's bye week media press conference from yesterday. We talk about the issues facing the Sooners moving forward as well as an outlook that doesn't look nearly as dire as it did right after the loss to Kansas State. It's a big recruiting week for the Sooners as Josh and Bob talk about the early signing day schedule and how it makes life more difficult for the Sooners if they are chasing another Big 12 title. We also talk about the NCAA and what appears to be a willingness to allow players to make money of their name, likeness and image. But how is all that going to work? Lots of stuff to get through even on a bye week.  U40: The goal is for the defense to show dominance against WVU | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:34:36

The full crew returns as the Sooners come off their big win over Texas. How does this team feel heading into West Virginia? The coast seems clear, but guarding against a letdown continues for the Sooners as well as LSU, Ohio State, Wisconsin and others. We talk about the defense moving forward. Austin Kendall being injured and not likely to play puts a bit of a damper on all the news surrounding the Mountaineers' return to Norman. But we will be expecting a big leap forward from the OU defense after their performance against Texas. Also, does Jalen Hurts need to rebound from Texas? Or are we being too harsh?
