The original Coco Palms Resort on the island of Kauai was demolished in 2016 and Hyatt is rebuilding a new resort there. But long before a resort was here, a coconut tree grove was planted and even before that, this was the seat of the island's royal family for over 600 years. This area is rich with legends because of the former royal past and burial grounds nearby. Coco Palms was believed to be haunted by spirits.
