REINVENTING SPEAKER LIFE | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 43:29

Thom Singer has a diverse background working for Fortune 500 companies, law firms and entrepreneurs in various capacities. Thom believes that, in a world consumed by digital shortcuts, creating meaningful influence in your business community matters more than ever before, and that likes, links, shares and follows are not the answers to unlocking business potential. Human engagement is the key to success. With decades of sales, marketing, and leadership experience, Thom’s keynote presentations combine that experience with an entertaining storytelling style. As a professional speaker, Thom believes that there is no single thing that holds people back from achieving more, nor is there one solution to reaching the top levels of success and it is unique for each person. Thom is author of 12 books, as well as host of the popular “Cool Things Entrepreneurs Do” podcast, which was named on Inc. Magazine as one of 8 business podcasts to listen to in 2018. On the show he interviews entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, and business leaders from a variety of industries. He encourages his guests to share tips and ideas that can help those with an “entrepreneurial spirit” find their own path toward success. Thom earned the prestigious Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation in 2014. The Certified Speaking Professional designation, established in 1980, is the speaking industry’s international measure of professional platform skill. The CSP designation is conferred by the National Speakers Association (NSA) only on those speakers who have earned it by meeting strict qualifying criteria. The letters CSP following a speaker’s name identify that speaker as a speaking professional with a proven track record for understanding and delivering value from the platform. Thom and his wife, Sara, make their home in Austin, Texas and are the parents of two highly spirited daughters. After being a couch potato for most of his life, he is now an avid runner and completed his first half-marathon in 2017.  REINVENTING FAILURE | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 40:43

Currently 12 years sober this month, Jared has had lots of struggles. His final night drinking stopped him dead in his tracks, forcing him to make a change to better his life. Deciding to become an entrepreneur, Jared went completely and totally broke three times chasing that dream. His BMW was repo’d and he literally lost everything – three times. He remembers his last drive in the BMW. He was on the way to hand over the keys to the dealer. He had reached rock bottom. Despite his ego having taken the worst hit to date, he never considered giving up for good. One night at a party, he was chatting with someone for several hours about marketing. Everything from national campaigns to local, digital to print and everything in between. Then he asked, so who do you work for? Jared said he sold flooring… he was shocked that he wasn’t in marketing. He had never considered the possibility of making a career out of it. Inspired, Jared really found out how good he was when he bought a marketing course for $1000. It has fantastic reviews – and learned absolutely nothing. In fact, he felt like the info was actually a step behind.. and proved it with a split test campaign (his stuff vs mine). That gave him the confidence to really go for it. Jared is founder of 123GetFound.com, which helps business owners grow and scale with results-based marketing solutions. TUNE IN to hear Jared chat with Steve, Mary and Richard about his journey from having it all at 28 years old to having a net worth of $3 and how the taste of success is so much sweeter after tasting failure.       In This Episode This life is hard. How Jared reached the level of contentment. Defining failure. He wears his failures as a badge of honor. His journey from having it all at 28 years old to having a net worth of $3. He was the leader for mobile opt-in before its time. He now works with small companies to aid with their marketing. Can I afford it is a bad mindset. What to do with a great opportunity? Marketing tools have him fired up about today.   Resources Mentioned http://www.123GetFound.com Previously On Reinvention Radio Reinventing Disaster Recovery – In this episode, Sandra Millers Younger discusses with Mary and Richard disasters and the key to coming back from disaster.

REINVENTING DISASTER RECOVERY | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 42:44

In 2003, Sandra Millers Younger was living in her dream house in the country near San Diego. In just moments, her dream was shattered when, in the blink of an eye, they lost their home, 12 neighbors and nearly their own lives from a catastrophic wildfire. They drove through darkness, smoke and flames to escape. For the next two years, the family focused on rebuilding their home and reinventing their lives. Through that process, Sandra discovered a new calling and career as an author, speaker, storyteller and resilience mentor. It took Sandra 10 years to write her book, The Fire Outside My Window: A Survivor Tells the True Story of California’s Epic Cedar Fire. The book has been praised by readers and adopted as a training text by top-level emergency professionals. During her research, seeing those affected by the fire self select as either victims or survivors, she realized we can choose our story moving forward from disaster. She wondered what else we can do to support and accelerate what she calls “the comeback journey,” which boiled down to five powerful commonsense practices proven to build resilience like a muscle, enabling us to transform disaster into opportunity and even loss into legacy. She calls those steps The ComeBACK Formula™. Sandra shares The ComeBACK Formula™ with disaster survivors, emergency professionals and other mission-centered leaders as an international speaker, workshop leader and media guest. She has appeared on ABC, CBS, PBS, CBC, Fox, NBC Dateline and numerous podcasts. Currently working to secure sponsors, Sandra would like to print and distribute the ComeBACK Formula™ workbook to all interested survivors of California’s recent fires and mudslides. Her vision is twofold: We have to erase the stigma against our emergency professionals admitting and seeking help in the wake of traumatic work experiences. We have to “make it OK to ask for help.” And we need to add effective, long-term resources for emotional recovery to comprehensive, post-disaster community recovery plans. TUNE IN to hear Sandra discuss with Mary and Richard disasters and the key to coming back from disaster .       In This Episode The kids were launched and they found a beautiful house out in the country on a hillside in San Diego Seven months later, she and her husband woke up to the site of the flames outside their window They grabbed the animals, some photos, threw it all into a laundry basket and they took off in the closest car The escape down the mountain with the bobcat leading the way She sent out to write a book about the experience You can come back from such disaster You learn that you are not your stuff She now stages things differently in order to evacuate quickly When you label someone a victim it implies weakness We can choose our story going forward The ComeBACK Formula – 5 steps to build resilience We need hope in our lives   Resources Mentioned Book: A Fire Outside My Window URL: http://www.SandraYounger.com Previously On Reinvention Radio Reinventing Boundaries – In this episode,
