Inspired by the WBAY interview today, Nic and Elliot have a brief discussion about online safety for kids. For parental controls at home, check out the NETGEAR Nighthawk or other higher-end Wi-Fi Routers. iOS Parental Control services like NetSanity can be helpful too - though they come with recurring charges. Finally, take advantage of the iOS Parental Controls built-in on iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch devices. These are found in Settings->General->Restrictions. There are tons of settings, but particularly you want to make certain to disable In-App Purchases and Installing Apps. Then, you also want to make certain to check out your child's friends list from time to time in different social, communication, and chat apps. These are the popular ones you may want to discuss with your child - click through to find me on those services: Facebook Twitter (which can include Twitter "Apps" like Tweetbot or Twitterific) Instagram Snapchat KIK WeChat (ideasbyelliot) If you have questions, please feel free to contact me! We'd be happy to do a follow-up show covering the questions! https://twitter.com/elliot https://facebook.com/ideasbyelliot https://www.ideasbyelliot.com/content/contact-me WBAY Segment: http://wbay.com/2016/02/04/parents-concerned-about-their-kids-apps/

Before this interview, I didn't know Mr. Dan Terrio at all. I really knew very little about him other than the fact that he'd be joining the ever-impressive line-up for the annual Red Cross Dancing With Our Stars event. I was blown away. To be honest, I was very skeptical when he was recommended by Brian Danzinger. Very skeptical. Like "Dan who?" levels of skepticism. Don't bet against Mr. Danzinger. Dan Terrio is one of our best and brightest! If you need an emotional boost? If you need some motivation? This is the show for you. For real. You won't be disappointed --- actually, you might be a little disappointed in me for not having more faith --- but you will be blown away by Dan Terrio. ...that said, his choices for future guest host were the strangest yet!
