Boards & Swords
Summary: Have you ever thought: Tabletop gaming podcasts just aren't cringe worthy enough? Have you ever made terrible jokes like "If Noah found a pig murdered, would it be an Ark-ham Horror?" Then you should check out Boards & Swords, the podcast featuring Bad Jokes, Good Folks, and Tabletop games. Every other week, Chris and Philip show what happens when you let Dad Jokes get dangerously close to tabletop games.

This week, I talk about my first time playing the Magic: The Gathering Commander Decks and acting like a first time player in Friday Night Magic. I also discuss what happened at the end of that first D&D session that I set up, and finish the episode breaking down the board game (dice game?) Quarriors! Tell me what you are playing! feedback@boardsandswords.com http://boardsandswords.com http://twitter.com/ChrisTheProf http://facebook.com/obsessivecomicsdisorder

photo 1 (2) What's this? A video game being discussed? Yes, but not quite, as I recently got into the Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft closed beta. Hearthstone is an online collectible card game based in the Warcraft universe, and you guys will definitely want to check this game out when it comes out of beta. In addition, I discuss how the Theros Game Day went, how I finally won in X-wing, and elaborate some on the world that I set my recent D&D campaign in. The episode finishes off with my Board Game Breakdown of Ascension by Stoneblade Entertainment. If you are interested in purchasing Ascension via Amazon, consider using this affiliate link: http://ocdcast.com/ascension photo 2 (2) feedback@boardsandswords.comhttp://boardsandswords.comhttp://twitter.com/ChrisTheProfhttp://facebook.com/obsessivecomicsdisorder

image (11) Not as many new board games to talk about this week; but I highlight a game I did NOT like. I also won my first Friday Night Magic, and I give an inside look into how I started my recent D&D campaign and a couple of the thoughts that went into that first adventure. Then, of course we finish up with a Board Game Breakdown of Richard Garfield's King of Tokyo by Iello Games. image (10) feedback@boardsandswords.comhttp://boardsandswords.comhttp://twitter.com/ChrisTheProfhttp://facebook.com/obsessivecomicsdisorder

This week, I back track a bit and discuss what D&D and Magic the Gathering are and give pointers on how you can get started in these games if you are interested. I also talk about the new Small World iOS app, a kickstarter that I think D&D fans should support, and close out the show by breaking down the board game "Ticket to Ride" Tabletop Connect Kickstarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/840448191/tabletop-connect-3d-virtual-tabletop?ref=live feedback@boardsandswords.com http://boardsandswords.com http://twitter.com/ChrisTheProf http://facebook.com/obsessivecomicsdisorder Ticket to Ride video review:

Welcome to Boards & Swords - a podcast exploring the world of tabletop gaming. In this episode, I give some quick thoughts on the new game ROFL, discuss how I've gotten my daughter Chloe and myself into Friday Night Magic, and then briefly mention some of my upcoming adventures for my D&D group. I finish off the episode by breaking down a very popular game that has been used by many as a gateway into board gaming - The Settlers of Catan. I'd love to hear your feedback! The show is still new, and I'm still looking for ways to improve it. feedback@boardsandswords.com boardsandswords.com twitter.com/ChrisTheProf facebook.com/obsessivecomicsdisorder

photo (3) Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that I'm going to be burying my head in a bunch of work for the rest of the month and unable to publish any blog posts/videos/or podcasts. But, before I did, I wanted to put out something for you guys to check out while I'm busy. Recently, I've become a much bigger fan of TableTop gaming, specifically board games and card games. Ever since, I've had this big desire to put out a podcast where I can talk about these things, but I wasn't able to figure out how I wanted to do it.Until Now.What you've got before you now, is a *very* rough idea of what I want to do for this podcast. I don't have any titles or album art yet, so this is just a barebones pilot episode for me to get some feedback from you guys on how to create this podcast. In this episode - I introduce myself and give a brief history of my gaming experiences, talk a bit about what I want to do on this podcast, and then go into a review of Wizard of the Coast's latest D&D reprint: the 3.5 Rule Supplement "Magic Item Compendium".Question of the Week - A question that I'd like answered by you guys and will read responses on my next episodes (for now, email them to chris@ocdcast.com, or comment on this episode).
