What can we learn about calling from Jeremiah's call? What does God want from us? God wants each of us to live in relationship with him so that we might bring life to others. 1. Calling beings with God. God calls and we respond. 2. We are not alone, God is always with us. He gives us His presence and relationship with him. 3. God will equip us for what He calls us to do. 4. Calling will look like failure to us, but God is in the business of bringing using failures like us to bring about His glory and His kingdom. 5. Success is humble faithfulness, not fame, fortune or impact. 6. It's not going to be easy. Brace yourself by keeping your focus on God, not yourself. Then speak God's word and don't be dismayed. The prevailing belief of the world is that "You go around once and then you die." Yet, the remarkable claim of the Christian faith is that those who have died are more alive today than they were before their deaths. "If I die and go to heaven, what is it going to be like?" "Someone close to me died, where do I turn for comfort?" "If I die, will I go to a better place?" Professor Ken Elzinga answers these questions.
