MacVoices #20207: Josh Centers Takes Control of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 (2) | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: 1798

We start the second part of our conversation with Josh Centers, the author of Take Control of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14, with a review of some of the privacy and security features Apple has built in to iOS 14. Some of those include video and camera use indicators, limited photo roll access by default, and why the new clipboard access notifications correct a potential weak spot in security. Other new features include sleep tracking, improvements to Notes, Voice Memo organization, a translation app, and a lot more. Then we switch over to iPadOS 14 and talk about which of the iOS 14 features are and are not included, why Scribble may be a productivity game changer, and get Josh’s advice on whether these updates should be installed on Day One, or whether you may want to wait a little while.  MacVoices #20206: Josh Centers Takes Control of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 (1) | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: 1589

Josh Centers has completely re-written his guide to Apple’s mobile operating systems in Take Control of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14. Josh explains how the App Library in iOS 14 works, why it might look like your apps are in two places at once (but aren’t), and how management of those apps is just a little different. Widgets will give you always-on access to the information you want, and provide a new way to display that information. Josh gives us some examples, including a radical idea for a Home or second screen that is now possible. (Part 1) LinkedIn Jobs This edition of MacVoices is supported by LinkedIn Jobs.
