The Talmud has two components.The first part is the Mishnah, the written compendium of Judaisms Oral Torah Instruction, The second part is the Gemara, an elucidation of the Mishnah and related Tannaitic writings that often ventures onto other subjects and expounds broadly on the Jewish Bible. The terms Talmud and Gemara are often used interchangeably, though strictly speaking that is not accurate. The whole Talmud consists of 63 tractates, and in standard print is over 6,200 pages long. It is written in Tannaitic Hebrew and Aramaic. The Talmud contains the teachings and opinions of thousands of rabbis on a variety of subjects, including Halakha (law), Jewish ethics, philosophy, customs, history, lore and many other topics. The Talmud is the basis for all codes of Jewish law and is much quoted in rabbinic literature.

The single special mitzvah for Chanukah is to light the candles which commemorates the miracle of Chanukah. The purpose of the Chanukah candles is pirsuma nisa – to publicize the miracle of Chanukah. Therefore, the Rambam writes that the Chanukah candles should be lit at shki’ah (sunset), but that we may continue to light until the people come home from work. The gleaming of Rebbe Nachmans wisdom Likutei Moharan – The essence of Rebbe Nachman’s teachings; almost four hundred lessons relating to and dealing with all aspects of life. At first, the lessons were transcribed and distributed as handwritten booklets. In 5565, the Rebbes foremost disciple, Reb Natan, began collecting the discourses and in 5569, the first printing of the book took place in the city, Ostraha, Ukraine. The Rebbe said that this book is the beginning of the Redemption.

During Shemitah, the land is left to lie fallow and all agricultural activity, including plowing, planting, pruning and harvesting, is forbidden by halakha (Jewish law). Other cultivation techniques (such as watering, fertilizing, weeding, spraying, trimming and mowing) may be performed as a preventative measure only, not to improve the growth of trees or other plants. Additionally, any fruits which grow of their own accord are deemed hefker (ownerless) and may be picked by anyone.
