Godliness is the quality of being like God. Attributes like love, brotherly kindness, faithfulness, mercy, and justice are the benchmarks of God's nature. It is indeed an endless list of great qualities. As Christians, as we press on toward the mark of the high call in Christ, we must exhibit increasingly our heavenly Father’s nature. Follow Bishop Eddy as he continues to build on his Creativity teachings with this great exposition on the values of Godliness and brotherly love. Indeed we must aim at being more and more like the heavenly Father ‘for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust’ (Matthew 5:45). Good natured tolerance of delay is a virtue that is lost on most of us. In its place is the ‘now’ syndrome. We want our ministries to explode now! We want to enjoy the returns on our businesses now! We can’t wait to develop a healthy relationship before marriage. We need that marriage now! We are so driven to accomplish success now that we miss those precious virtues that the Lord desires to birth in us, like patience. At the feet of one experienced in this virtue, we learn how to cultivate patience as Bishop Eddy continues his Fruitfulness and Prosperity Mission. According to James 1:4 when patience does it’s work in us, we become perfect, entire and wanting of nothing! Trust the Holy Spirit to bear in you this critical fruit of patience.

The culture of excesses does more damage to us than we know. We must cultivate temperance in the place of excess if we will triumph in life’s race. Temperance is cultivating moderation in all things. The Apostle Paul puts it this way ‘… every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible’(1 Corinthians 9:25). As you follow Bishop Eddy’s Creativity series endeavor to diligently add to faith, virtue, and knowledge, temperance also in all things. The effort to control our urges to overindulge will be worth it when we stand to receive the incorruptible crown.

Knowledge is a valuable personal trait. In fact, it is a treasure! A believer who places value on acquiring knowledge – of God, and of His ways is well pleasing to the Lord. That is why Apostle Paul admonishes us in 2 Timothy 2:15 to study to show ourselves approved unto God! Today as you listen to Bishop Eddy, you will discover that Jesus Christ was anointed with the spirit of knowledge which was essential to accomplishing His mission on earth. This building block of knowledge cannot be excluded as we work our way into abundance and fruitfulness in the Kingdom.

The strength and quality of a foundation determines how high a building can go. In many ways we typify this as believers. Psalm 11:3 trumpets a vital principle;if our foundations be destroyed, what can we do? Virtue is one such vital component of our foundation and we must fight to include it!
