The Subs dig into the rebootiest mergified universe ever, as they dissect and annotate the Amalgam Comics Gem, Spider-Boy Team Up, in which the Arach-Kid teams up with the Legion of Galactic Guardians in the year 2099. Scott lets his Marvel-Fu fly, as the guys read a great send up, and tribute to the future universes of both Marvel and DC. We’ve been nerdy before, but this may be a whole new level!
The Subs dig into Legion of Super Heroes 12, as the Legion face off against the Dominators and their machinations. Then the guys discuss what villains they’d like to see make a comeback, as well as what else they’re reading these days.
The Subs are all back at HQ, as we give you the rundown on DragonCon and Fan Expo, as well as digging into Legion Lost issue 12.
The Legion finishes their run as the main feature in Adventure Comics, and the Subs are assembled to take in all its wacky glory.
The Drinking Game gets out of hand as the Subs flashback to the morning of Episode 200, as they talked to Chris and Caleb from the Tales From the Longbox podcast. Much silliness, comic chatter and zoo escaping ensues.
The Subs dig into Adventure Comics 379 for part two of the Dead Legion story, take a look at the last time there was a Zero Month, and battle a Stump the Subs from Mitchell.
The Subs pay tribute to the late, great Joe Kubert, take a look at the guest lists for FanExpo in Toronto, and DragonCon in Atlanta. Then they run through Adventure Comics 378, 12 Hours To Live. All this, and a Querl Dox level Stump the Subs from Mitchell!
For their 200th episode, The Subs are joined by Brian Nixon and Darren Goodheart for a discussion of who the best Legion Leaders were, and who they’d like to see lead the team. Also, Brian has compiled an exhaustive list of the Drinking Game rules, as well as a ton of other LoSP fun facts.
The Subs welcome Matt back from deep space as they dig into the eleventh issues of Legion Lost and Legion of Super Heroes. They watch as the time lost legionnaires deal with Timber Wolf’s injuries, and fight the Metamericans, while back in the 31st century, Star Boy leads a renegade rescue team to save Brainy .
The Subs take a look at Adventure Comics 377, where the Legion save lives only when they get paid. Then they get their nerd on to discuss a number of comic book movies, past and present, and future. Be forewarned: it gets ranty!
Darren, Scott and Paul follow last issues battle brackets with The Wanderers and watch as Chameleon Boy finds himself on another planet where he is in much peril. While he would like to have as much peril as he could get, his teammates are ready to do whatever they can to save him.
The Subs take a look at Adventure Comics 375, in which Bouncing Boy is mad as hell and he’s not going to take it anymore. The Legion meets The Wanderers and enter into a strange sports bracket with an empty glove!
The Subs take a look at the Legion’s first battle with the Taurus Gang in Mission Diabolical, from Adventure Comics 374.
The Subs dig into Legion Lost #10 and Legion of Super Heroes #10. One book has terrible dialogue and feels like the cheesiest 90s book you ever read, and the other one is Legion of Super Heroes #10. Thrill to Cos in a Tron suit, more creepy Dominator ships, and Dreamy taking a nap. Then, Computo attacks, and Paul fights off the malevolent machine’s whirring minions, to finish off the episode.
The Subs take a look at Adventure Comics 373, in which the Legion meets The Tornado Twins, then they take a look at the sordid histories of the Twins. You think your favourite hero had troubles after the various crises? Wait until you hear what happened to these guys! Finally, legends and super heroes come together to bring memories of 20th century DC to the 30th century! Here’s the link Paul mentioned at the beginning of the episode. http://supermansamuel.blogspot.ca/2012/06/superheroes-for-sam-photo-project.html If you’re able to help, it’s a great cause!
