There’s a big swap meet planned in Orem this weekend – with no price tags on the merchandise. A nyone can show up and take what they like for free. Sarah Bateman says the idea of something like a free yard sale occurred to her several years ago as she was driving to a local thrift store with a donation. She says the thrift stores are important, but she also enjoys seeing friends and strangers show up with toys and clothes and even furniture for what she calls the “Community Free SWAP.” A similar

Historic B-17 "Flying Fortress" Gives Glimpse of WWII Experience | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 113

Once the engines started up, the first and only thing you notice is how loud it is. And it only got louder as the engines revved up for takeoff. Once in the air, the flight bombarded all five senses, and yes, that includes taste. It’s an experience that helps you understand, if only slightly, what it must have been like for those who served and often sacrificed their lives while flying a B-17 over Germany. Along with me on the flight was 89-year-old World War II veteran Sam Wyrouck. During the

Tips From the IRS For a Happy Tax Season | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 61

Tuesday April 15 marks this year’s deadline to file federal income tax returns. IRS spokesperson Bill Brunson says even if you’re not sure you can make the payment, it’s much better to file or ask for an extension before the deadline passes than to do nothing at all. “I still would have a late payment penalty, but the late payment penalty is one half of one percent, as opposed to a 4.5% penalty for a late file,” he says. Brunson also says if you’re going to hire someone else to prepare your
