Following the annual holiday of our people — Free RPG Day — it seems fitting to invoke another Road Crew judge onto the show! Tonight’s guest brings DCC RPG to game shops at least twice a week, in addition to convention appearances. And, in the spirit of inclusivity, we’re ecstatic to welcome the very FIRST guest to the show who … shall we say, differs a bit from every other guest we have invoked here on Spellburn. We love DCC RPG, but you know what makes it even better?  Putting your own customized home table stamp right on the game you play.   We asked the Spellburnt legions to send us some houserules and you did! We’ll review the lot, yak about the pros and cons and I’m going to try my damndest to make each one of us adopt one of these houserules tonight for our next session!   All this and more on the next episode of the Kids-tested, Hobbs-approved Spellburn!  Episode 67: Gary Con X Wrap-up! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Another Gary Con has come and gone and what a grand con it was!  One of the few things missing was the “What’s New with Goodman Games?” seminar.  Yes, for the first time in over 5 years, we got no seminar.  This means that this is also the first time in 5 years that Spellburn has been unable to share that recording with those who were unable to join us in Lake Geneva!   So in its stead, we have gathered to share some of our standout moments of the week as well as some of the things coming along down the pipeline from both the official and the third party publishing quarters! Adventures mentioned in this episode: Shadow Under Devil’s Reef Neon Knights Tower of Faces (Sanjulian cover!)  Episode 66: Life on Aereth | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Like many listening, I first encountered the mysterious world of Aéreth in the pages of the DCC RPG Core Book. Many others listening will remember the world of Aéreth from back in the days when Dungeon Crawl Classics wasn’t the name of a roleplaying game but was instead the name of a line of adventure modules written for the world’s first fantasy roleplaying game. Today we are lucky enough to have the man who quite literally wrote the book on the topic of Aéreth back in those days of yore. He’s here to talk to us about the system’s default setting and how it has changed since DCC RPG was launched. Adventures mentioned in this episode: One Who Watches from Below Doom of the Savage Kings Hive of the Overmind Incursion of the Ultradimension The Portsmouth Mermaid Dragora’s Dungeon Sailors on the Starless Sea The Emerald Enchanter Links mentioned in this episode: Book of Treasure Maps Gazetteer of the Known Realms Curator of Earth (MCC Character Genreation on Twitter!)
